    Hi EL_Killaa,

Congrats on passing the tests. How was the physical? I take mine in the next week or so for Roehl.

I got a prehire from three companies while in school too. I chose Roehl from the information on here, their site and other sites. The employment specialist called me today and gave me an offer and I decided on Dry Van for now.

I graduate on the 14th and that is my DMV date too. I start orientation later this month with Roehl provided my physical is fine (and I pass the DMV test on the 14th!) .

Because of the Holiday, I won't start the OTR training until January. I have a passport and I was told I'll be going to Canada during my training!

the physical was a lot easier than i thought, just keep breathing so that your pulse stays below the cutoff rate. I'm 6'3" 340lbs and i blew through it hehe... they didnt have any trainers available after orientation, so they put me in a rental car and sent me back home to wait for a trainer to pick me up.... by tomorrow i hope.

You do not have to have HAZMAT, I dont have it either; during orientation everyone will take a HAZMAT certification class.. As far as home time they have all kinds of fleets with different home time options, check their website all that info is there..

... BTW I'm still at home waiting for a trainer, spoke with my fleet manager yesterday and i was told to call him back on Thursday if a trainer has not called me by then.. That's my only complaint about ROEHL so far, imo they could have coordinated better to have trainers in the area..

sorry to see you wait. I think I have made up my mind and not going to Roehl. I also got a prehire from TMC, and have made up my mind to go try there. I only got my 2 day of driving done so it will be a week or two before I take my test

And so, after 2 whole weeks of waiting for a trainer, I have decided to cut ROEHL loose. Can't make any money by sitting here, I have nothing bad to say about them but this is just not working out. I am starting orientation this Friday with another carrier that tell me I wouldn't be sitting out that long. Don't get me wrong though, ROEHL is a great company, but right now getting paid is top priority. Hopefully they'll take me back after I go get some experience with my new carrier.. The fleet manager says its pretty tough to line up trainers for FL drivers, guess he wasn't joking hehe...

That changes by the week I'd say.. But it doesn't hurt to do a bit of research till u find your match.. I know werner hires a lot. US express hires bunches as well, but it would all depend on what kind of trucking are you looking to do... I had prehires from roehl, werner, and Stevens transport..

    xlsdraw Thanks this.

I am starting school at Roadmaster on Monday and was seriously considering Roehl as well. Your information was very helpful. Do you mind me asking who you decided to go with?
