In Arizona, there's a program called "one stop" that is funded by the government. They pay for training into select fields that need employees, and trucking is one of them. I don't know if your state participates in this too, or if you qualify. It's basically through the unemployment office, but you don't have to be unemployed to participate. I found out about this program when I went to interview the three schools in my town. I'll be going to the school that is accredited, which means that if you don't qualify for this program, you can get a loan through the school. Trucking pays 40 to 60k a year to start, so paying back a 4 to 7k loan won't be difficult. Some trucking companies will pay you a bonus to help pay this loan off, even.
Going to a trucking company school means you could easily get stuck for a year or longer with a company you hate. If you own your cdl outright, you can leave and change jobs much easier, without some outrageous balloon payment.

Yup I seen it. My best answer woulf be to call Millis and ask for Peggi in recruiting and she will be able to answer your questions regarding your situation. Shes a former driver and will shoot you 100% straight
