Well I have been busy. Right now I'm sitting in front of a casino in AZ. This load is going to Cali. Is 2200 miles. I started on it on 2/27 I will arrive tomorrow its due on 3/4. That will give me Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur and maybe Fri to get me more miles. So it looks l like it's going to be a week over 3000 miles. They told us in orientation that we won't go passed Texas or first year. Here I am headed to Cali 4 months in. I told my trainer he was like no way. I said yes way. I had to get some snow chains from the terminal just in case. The day before I got this load I was rerouted to Gary to pick up two student and drop them off in Ellenwood to b get their trucks and go home. I was woke up as I slept in the yard with a call from my fm asking me to come inside when I had a moment. He said I had been selected to do a random drug test. So I got that done then got this nice two stop load. That's all that's been going on with me.

Hey I got a question ill be 21 in a few months I've been driving a quad axel dump truck since I was 18 for a company in lake delton and biggest trailer I've pulled has been a 40 ft and most of our equipment is oversized so we need all the signs and stuff and also have my hazmat endorsement so if I got hired would I be considered inexperienced or exp. like would I have to go thru roehl school or just orientation and the Otr training?
-
They would likely make you go through their school or another one and then go with a trainer for a while. Local experience doesn't get a whole lot of love as experience when you start to go OTR. If you decide to go OTR and have to go to school I would recommend finding one that Crete excepts and go with them as the miles at the two companies are very similar but the pay is much better at Crete.
Kutina Thanks this. -
Would they pay for my stuff since I have a cdl and I thought you need year experience for Crete you worked for Crete for a while I've read most of your threads it's good stuff man

I'm on a seal coat we travel all over Wisconsin sometimes Michigan and Minnesota sometimes but I can't drive outa state yet so it sucks when we do that but ya I've never had do to logs or anything like that sometimes we drive for up to 16 17 hours at a time specially when we stockpile ill get like 800 miles in a day very little sleep we get paid hourly I'm making almost 20 an hour we averge 80 to 100 hours a week in the summer were constantly overweight and even hauling stuff while loaded so it kinda sucks but it's reAl good money specially for my age I've never been through a weigh station we avoid them at all cost lol. But it's seasonal I end in November and start in like April could be as late as end of may so it always is kind of a gamble seeing as how my unemployment could run out I don't no if I wana go for another season or go trucking lol
