    Thanks for this post.

I leave for Phoenix this coming Sunday. Already have my CDL (school). And start Phase-1 bright and early Monday (18th) morning.

Very excited and a little nervous. LOL! Everyone at Roehl has been great! I'm in the same boat as you. I prefer to stay out as long as possible. Good to know.

FYI, in MY case, Flatbed starts at .34 PM PLUS tarp pay, etc;.. I'm sure they start you out higher if you have actual experience.

    God bless!

Hey if I were you I would go get tested now, since you have insurance. That way if you do need you have insurance to help pay for it. Then you can tell the dr that does your physical whether or not you are negative or positive for sleep apnea.

I'm a little upset today. I dropped a relay in Ellenwood today. Not sure why because I had enough hours to run it. Say there then got b a PM on my truck. When it was done ni still had 7 and half hours available to run. They sent me a load for 151 miles total. It was another relay loaf coming to Ellenwood that wasn't even there yet.

I drove the 151 miles so I could deliver tonight, I get here and they refuse my load. They told me this was the 4th Roehl trailer that they refused today because our trailers didn't have vents on them. Sigh. I was already upset about the weekend load that im suppose to be picking up tomorrow because it's only 600ish miles and doesn't deliver until Monday. Now I'm not even getting that. I asked to go home since n I'm only 107 miles away they said no. I'm about change my schedule if I don't get 2500 miles this week. I will be like everyone else and work 11 and take 3 and stop busting my butt for them.

it wont matter if you bust your but or not.. your miles wont change either way. i am going through the same problem you are and i was going to leave a few months ago but they offered me a better position hauling RGN for them. thats the only reason i decided to stay, so i could get some oversize experiance. still having the same problem with there planners. they dont know anything about load planning. all they do is find a load available and set it up for a driver to do the rest, with no regards to appointment times or even if the rite trailer is on the load. not to mention they have way to many flat bed drivers for the amount of loads they plan for. all they are is a circus act. the best thing you could do is get some experience and move to a different company. i was going to go over to Melton, from what i hear they're a good company to haul for. well good luck and keep your head up, cause the grass is greener on the other side....:biggrin_25525:

My miles have been good lately. 3300 last week, 2500 week before, 3800, and 3300. I just dont like my time played with. They get paid no matter what, we don't. If im sitting im not making money. Weekend dispatch sucks. I asked them if I could put in my two weeks notice over the qualcomm and they asked why I wanted to quit I said because of weekend dispatch.

Where are you planning on going? If you go to any of the other large companies, I can just about guarantee you will have just about the same experience. However I will agree with you that weekend dispatch does seem to really have there head up there butt.

I cant say where. I have a phone interview with a fortune 500 company on Saturday morning. I wouldn't go to another trucking company. Imo Roehl is the best it gets, but I think weekend and night dispatch along with the planners need to be replaced. My interview will allow me to be home every night and weekend. Not that I want or miss being home, I don't miss it. The job pays me the same I would make my first year at Roehl if I continued to bust my butt on the road and not go home.

Well I'm in a hotel in Ohio, my bunk heater has not been working in a couple of days. So my fleet manager got me a hotel, near the consignee. Comfy bed I might sleep in tomorrow.
