I am in Gary,IN because I am going for Flatbed, all Flatbed training is done here.

Yeah, I went with them over anyone else, including some with terminals here in Reno, NV, because of their focus on the driver, and because they make safety paramount. I cruised 5 truck stops around here before I found one with 2 Roehl drivers. Both were kind enough to talk with me. Both had more than 10 years trucking, and both had been with at least 2 other companies. Both drivers said they'd like to retire from Roehl. That sounded good enuf for me!
They admitted that no company is perfect, but Roehl tries to stay fair and tries to keep it's promises.

Phoenix also trains the flatbeds. Phoenix is closer to me, here in Reno, but I'm going to Gary because that orientation starts a week sooner. Need that 1st paycheck, like, yesterday!!!

Today was my official hire day, I am now a member of Team Roehl. Currently on my 34hr reset and hope to leave with my OTR trainer bu tomorrow night. I have to say I really like the company so far. The trainers were really great guys and really know how to explain things. I would definitely reccommend Roehl to anybody especially new drivers. I learned way more in the week here in Gary then I did in the whole 6 week program I went to. I hope to be able to post more here once I am on the road. See you all on the road.

Awesome man! I have. Even following your thread. I am pre hired with Roehl and spoke to a driver today and I moved them to the top of my list of companies. Be safe out there!

Congrats and good luck with the trainer!

Congrats, Spartan718! Today is my 1st official training day @ Roehl's facility in Gary. Qual day went well yesterday. The flatbedding pre-work screening was not difficult, but the 70# carry & lifting the tarp to shoulder height were tougher than expected. All I'm saying is be prepared. (A copy of the pre-work screening can be downloaded from Roehl's website.)
We have a good class of 10, including 1 lady, from all over the U.S. I think we'll all go thru without too much trouble.
