I am starting Roehl training program in Marshfield on June 18th. Has anyone been to the traing there? I'm leaving from South Carolina to go there(driving rental car). My question(s) are how far is the training from the Stardust Motel where they will put me for lodging. My recruiter(Carrie-very good recruiter) sent offer letter and it says that I'm responsible for transportation to the school from lodging. I won't have a vehicle there, and don't want the expense of renting a car for three weeks. Do they have a local bus that can get me close to the school? Walking distance? Also, what can I expect during the training? Thanks in advance! Any info appreciated. God Bless!

Mudpuppy, My husband is dispatched out of Marshfield and has been there. I will ask him and let you know. He calls me almost every day. Welcome aboard. Carrie is very nice and very helpful.

I'm not familiar with Stardust. I do recall that cabs take you anywhere in Marshfield for about $ 5.00 I stayed at the Super 8 a few times, and both times had a 7:00 am pick-up by a Roehl employee.
Expect to do the right things, and you'll be treated very well. Good luck to you. -
Thanks Whispers and milesto go. I do want to learn the right way. I'd rather do it safely, cause accident/violations will go on MY license, and right now, that's my meal ticket for my family. If I lose my license, I can't drive. The company won't really be out anything. Insurance is there for a reason!

I did call Carrie this morning and I found out that the school is about 3 miles from the motel. She told me that, yes, I was responsible for trans, and that maybe I could get a ride from another student. It didn't sound to me like I was going to be picked up. Hopefully the other students won't be in the same boat as I am and I can find one that is willing. Hmmm, three miles walking at 2 miles an hour, have to be there at 7am....sounds like I better take my running shoes.lol

Mudpuppy, I am curious - The other training center is in Ellenwood, GA - just south of ATL - why are you going to WI for training? And I thought I'd heard that the people There get picked up in front of the hotel and taken to the Ellenwood center? hmmm...please update us when you have a moment and GOOD LUCK TO YOU

Hi Mudpuppy-
I was out in Marshfield for training. Joe, Keith and Dave are tough but they are good trainers. If you can ask Carrie who else will be staying at your location, you can look them up and possibly get a ride. Several classmates rode together as well as hung out together. One of the guys that was here on the site went the same week I went and we already kind of new each other via these posts. We stayed in apartments and were right across the hall from each other. You will find a lot of support out there. Do the book work, pay attention and you'll do fine.
Good Luck,
Toby
