You really should at least consult an attorney about this. Just because a company has gotten by doing this to x amount of people does not mean it's legal and certainly doesn't make it okay. Do you reside in the same state you were dispatched out of? I would talk to an attorney where I resided, if it was me. They will at least be able to point you in the right direction. You shouldn't have to pay any "security deposit" to use company equipment when you are a company driver. That's the hallmark of a not very good company.

Aim high, apply to companies you think you will not qualify for. You may be surprised, they may be desperate. How you present yourself can make a big difference. You write pretty well.
Look on Glass Door for employee reviews and do not go to any company that does not have a good reputation.
I sympathize with the stressful position you are in. Just stay steady, aim high, chip away at the problem and soon enough, you will be back in the saddle and earning a great wage.
Let us know how things go.
BTW, how much tuition do you "owe"?
You might make a complaint to the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) they will make inquiries on your behalf about possible breech of contract by your previous employer who may - very likely - simply drop your tuition bill.
Good luck and assert yourself!Buzzard2157, Blagoje, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this. -
Lonesome Thanks this.

Sargento isnt the only game in town here. Tons of dairy processing plants hiring local drivers. Grande is another that comes to mind. Plus all the Grade A milk hauling cowboyzs.

To the Roehl driver today on Hwy 11 east of Brodhead, WI. You're welcome. I spent 15 minutes trying to get through to your safety department when those railway crossing arms came down on top of your dry van. Not that you heard it. In your defense the track fixing equipment crossed, arms went up and came back down when you were 1/2 way through. It only broke one light off the crossing member but i'm sure those railguys were looking for someone to blame.....
Man i got to get a dashcam, some of the comical stuff you see when on the road 2500 miles a week, lol.Blagoje Thanks this. -
I was listening to SiriusXM radio the other day and Roehl now has ads on their service. So that company is struggling to get enough loads and miles for their drivers but they're doubling down on the recruiting efforts. I think that they operate a bad faith contract scam in which they deliberately terminate someone's employment so that they can bully them into paying Roehl $7000.Lpirtle Thanks this. -
No one had the Garmin 710 last fall, i opted for the 510 (no camera). One of those times i certainly wished i had something recording...
