I have to admit I laughed out loud at the line about living at the Y and eating catfood.

Roehl is a very picky company when it comes to hiring a driver. So if they don't like what they see or hear trust me they wont bug you.

I have not heard of a person not being accepted as a driver after graduating......

Hubby has been to Canada and to Utah

He has been with Roehl since April of this year and has been getting around 2800 miles on an average per week.....

I know Roehl is a picky company so if you have passed the background check and graduate their school and do well with a trainer I can't see a reason for them to cut you........

    Hope this helps.....
    Good Luck

Hey, I'll see you in Marshfield in October. I'll be in the same class. Sounds like the exact situation as yours, job etc... see you there. I am working with Chrissy at the school and Amanda for hiring.
    Take care,
    Toby

Was accepted with Roehl. Orientation starts the 27th. (road test is the 26th) out of Ellenwood GA. Have a very clean background, all my ducks in a row, and all paperwork from time off (Unemployment) and past employers. Signing on the 7-4/7-3 program and see how it goes. I felt most confident and comfortable with them as to the information I was given from the over the phone, and information I read here and on other sites. ALso was accepted by the normal companies, as well as H.O.W. (they were tough on the application also) But I seen some negative that I didn't feel comfortable with, hence I choose Roehl. Could have started local, but after talking to some others, didn't want the chance of an accident and then nobody touch me.
Drive safe,, see ya around and will stop in after I start out and report on the progress and if I still feel the same about them after driving for awhile.

Good luck to the two of you starting to Roehls school.I just finished my first week on rthe road with them.Still too early to post a definite opinion on them. However up to this point I have this much to report.1st week 2800 miles, not bad.I am on 7 on 7 off program, left out Sat.and got home Fri.evening.Good to their word on that. They keep their equip.in pretty good shape.I am driving an 04 International with 290,000 mi.on it,runs just fine.It does shake rattle and roll a little.Wish they had bigger fuel tanks. With the twin 100s,it seems like you make too many fuel stops, twin 150s would sure be nice.Had to call in live a couple of times, and everyone I talked to was very friendly and helpful, including night and weekend dispatch.Whispers had my eyes open for 5711 but never seen it.I did the east coast and southeast, and low and behold on I 81 in VA,there it was.A Swift truck rolled over in the median, which means another good pic for them to frame and hang in their terminal. Now to enjoy a week at home.

Enjoy your home time. Will you be running the east coast mostly? Hubby was in Utah this week. Swift is the poster trucking company for how NOT to drive. LOL And to all the newbies at Roehl I wish you all good luck. I think you will find them helpful and friendly.

They are looking for people who are up front with them. If you try to hide something in your background and it comes up in their checking they will pass you by. They like a stable work history. (When I say you I don't mean you personally I mean anyone who applies to them.) If you have too many accidents or tickets. If you have a good clean record and a good work history and are in their lane of hiring, they could be interested in hiring you. When my husband applied, they contacted him to get further information and when they accepted him he got an email. Now when a friend applied who didn't have a great work history, they pre-hired him but when his background came back they declined him. And he hasn't heard from them since. They are not a pushy outfit. I am happy my husband found them. With other companies I was always stressed out about miles or home time.....with Roehl, his paychecks have been consistly high. Home time has not been a problem.
