Let me ask you Roehl applicants a question: Was there a written medical questionaire or telephone survey? Specifically, did they ask about any past diagnosis of sleep apnea? If so, I'll probably need to take another sleep test to hopefully demonstrate the mouth piece I use when sleeping corrects the apnea.

    Thanks!

Hi. I only filled out the app thats on their website, and no, there wasnt any phone survey other than my recruiter calling and introducing herself and asking general questions like, "what made you decide to apply to ROEHL", " what makes you think you would be an asset to ROEHL?"

Things like that. Now, I havent taken the DOT physical yet, so I dont know if that will be asked..

When I was sent the packet containing my " conditional offer of employment", there were papers telling what all to pack when we go out with a trainer, and one of the items it mentioned , was packing a CPAP machine , so it sounds like they may accept sleep apnea patients.

Hope this helps, but if I get asked that when I go to my physical, Ill sure let you know.

When I went for me physical I just checked no under sleep apnea. They never measured my neck or anything like that. I was never given a test but I'm not going to say I have something when I don't.

Thanks LadyT. I only received what I would call a preHire letter (from Cheryl). No lists or additional information. But I haven't "pulled the trigger" on making the final decision on which company I'm going with either.

In Virginia, we had to have our DOT medical card (physical) prior to even getting our cdl Instruction Permit. Certainly would have been required by the time we are issued our actual CDL. I just looked back over my long form and there was a question on "the list" about sleep disorders. I musta 'overlooked' it. Anyway, if it comes up again, I will more carefully note it. Did not and do not intend to be untruthful in any way.

    Thanks again!

I hear ya DrtyDielsel. Statistically, about 1/4 of all Americans have some form of sleep apnea ... as many as 95% of the cases go undiagnosed. (All snorers do not have apnea but all apnea sufferers DO snore.) I tried the machine, it was just a hassle. I went with the custom mouth piece. If the issue comes up, I will definitely acknowledge it.

    Thanks!

Can someone explain the home time to me? Seems like Roehl offers better than most for new drivers.

7 days then three off? That's not bad at all. I work retail and don't get that!
