Before I started, needed CLP with health card. Learned about the Get Paid Program. Great idea for people like me. I am a Roehl employee as of today.
Day 1:
Got picked up from hotel at 645. Met instructor, who is pretty cool. Did paperwork and heart rate evaluation at a clinic. Went back to the terminal and did more paperwork. Ate lunch which is paid for. More paperwork and finished the day up learning how to use a log book. A lot of questions were answered. Helps to have 9 other people in class to have multiple questions answered that I didn't think of. Back at hotel around 445.

Just to add a few things before I talk about day 2....
They put us in a really nice hotel in Appleton, WI called Comfort Suites. We are bunked with someone who matches our personality a little. My roommate and I both smoke, both males. Just happens we like most of the samethings.
Day 2: Today, we were asked to try and find a ride with the other students (which there is a lot). We were to meet a the school to get introduced to the intructors and trucks.
We started, as with everyday, at 0700. Did some paperwork, and split into teams, in this case 3 to an instructor.
I started out behind one of the students as they went around a course learning how to shift properly. Pretty #### scary at first! Then it was my turn. Now, from watching the other student make mistakes and being corrected, I had an idea of what to start looking for. I did pretty well, up shifting; down shifting turning all with a bobtail. Next was another students turn.
We took lunch from 1130 to 1230.
Next, I was asked to back the truck near the trailer I was to use. Did fine, while learning the pointers of actually hooking up the trailer, what to look for, etc.
The instructor took us out to show us how to properly corner around curves and intersections. It was my turn for another hour or so. I really need to watch how far I clutch, unlike the cars I am used to.
Next, I went in and worked on a simulator for the rest of the day. I finished up my day at 1630. Now it is time to go soak my leg in the hot tub at the hotel.SESteve83, firemedic2816, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
