The main reason drivers stay with Roehl is the 7/7 and they usually get you home on time.
Other than that there terminals are a little run down, the trailer fleet is aging with a lot of trailers not operating right, the tractor fleet seems to be mostly 500-800k and many drivers complaining about being in for maint. every week. Maint. is overwhelmed. The routing system takes you down city roads and 2 lanes all the time. The tractors have all been neutered and they give you 45,000 paper loads alot, its like driving a Volkswagen beetle fully loaded. The drivers who have been there 10 years say its not the same company it was when the old man still ran it. There also seems to be a large percentage of drivers who are ready to leave, and the company finds ways to prevent drivers who have stayed with them to get their pay scale increases. Thats the inside scope, please share the inside scoop of your company so we can find better companies to work for.

I worked there. This is probably a fair review. It is my understanding that new trucks and trailers will be purchased this year. This should help some of the problems with equipment. If you are at Roehl and need maintenance you should consider asking your manager to get you in to Kaukauna or Iron Mountain. Just my two cents.

I was gonna go with Roehl but at the last minute I chose KLLM Transport. Maybe I made the right decision after all.

How do you make any money running 7 on and 7 off?

Alot of the guys that run this program are retired military or just retired. This is a secondary income for them.

The idea is based upon more home time, not income. Not everyone needs or wants to be out that much.

As far as the company not being the same as when "the old man had it", I'm afraid that's pretty much the standard...the old-timers here at Schneider say that often, and I've heard that of at least several other companies.

I have spoken to a few of the 7/7 drivers and some of them were knocking out 70-75K miles/year. It seems they keep these guys running pretty hard.

For some reason 28k to 32k sticks out in my feeble mind, but I think that may be from several years ago. A quick attempt at 8th grade math in my head indicates that probably hasn't changed much.

70k miles # .40 would come to $28k...don't know about any bonuses and accessorial pay....is Roehl even paying .40?

don't see how a driver could make that kind of money working two weeks per month at maybe 5000 miles a month. more like $25,000 a year.
