Its not to bad just drive drive drive. My trainer was pretty good and stayed calm, but ran me pretty hard. Your logs will be the big thing besides learning to drive better in heavy traffic. It surprised me how many people try and kill themself just to get in front of you when they are on the on ramp to a highway. Found out why so many trucks ride in the middle lane.

Thank-you for your response so how long have you been driving for Roehl, and its just login and driven in your first evol think I can handle that. Anything more you can tell me about it would be great-ful.

They have a check list to go buy, but my 1st trainer went well past that check list and into evo two, but it was not overwhleming. The trainer is more life a safety guy and just makes sure you don't hit anything and shows you the ton of paper work you need to do. With Roehl 6 weeks.

Just got your CDL from Roehl? Does that mean you went through the RDTC in Marshfeild? If so, you are ahead of the game as to what Roehl expects, verses my CDL mill training and have managed to be in my own tractor with Roehl for 6 months. There is a program that Roehl wants the trainers to follow during the evo process and I beleive the trainers try to follow it. I think the really good trainers adapt to the student and adjust to what the student needs or can handle. Beleive it or not Roehl does keep an eye on the trainers to be sure that the company gets good drivers out of it in the end result. I have meet drivers that were suspended from being trainers, as well as being removed.
You have made it through to the point where Roehl is putting you into the evo 1 and 2. Take this as a vote of confidence from Roehl that you are worth investing more time and money into. They are paying you and your trainer, yet no revenue to speak of in return. Take this vote of confidence and run with it, just don't get ####y with it. Take or ask for every back opritunity that comes up during your evos. As well as driving into shippers and cons. Driving down expressways between cities just doesn't give you as many learning chances.
You will probable run hard and long during your evos, it will be worth it in the end if this trucking career is your passion. Don't be afraid to speak up if you get a bum trainer which from what I hear and see are far and few between. You have come too far too let that happen. Most trainers remember what it was like for them starting out and deep down want to help you succeed, not fail. The trainer pay is set up for the trainer to be rewarded during training and when you succeed.
I think you will be just fine, you are concerned enough to be on here seeking information.
Best of luck to you!!captK Thanks this. -
Good comments. I'm in Week 3 of my CDL training with Roehl, and will graduate on Friday.
I'm excited about Evo 1 & 2. I'm anxious to learn everything that they can throw at me.
I have been pleasantly impressed with the training at the Marshfield location. Every trainer is friendly and they all want each student to succeed.
Hopefully I'll run into you guys (and gals) out there on the asphalt. -
