Finally got a definite answer/explanation of Roehl's GYCDL contract. If for ANY reason(s) you do not complete the GYCDLprogram and complete 120,000 miles you will be on the hook for $7000.00. WOW! Now I realize that training a driver isn't cheap, but 7000.00 may be more than I can chew. Local private schools are not that expensive! Roehl does pay you $500.00 a week during school, so if that is all saved, then it could be applied to tuition. Swift is $3900 +750+food, miscellaneous, so lets say $5000. Millis is $2350. Hmmmm....

I went to an independent driving school when I started. No way I was gonna be forced to stay somewhere if things were going south.
Expeditor Thanks this. -
Same here, My wife and I went to a technical college, in TN, 7 years ago. We paid $600 dollars each after TN kicked in a grant. It took us 7 weeks and they tested us. I would never be on the hook for $3,000 to $6,000 dollar bill and tied to a company for a year. But that's me, others might see it different.SavageMuffin Thanks this.

it used to be tuition reimbursement before roehl started their own school, with that you go to an independent trucking school to get your cdl, I paid like 3,000, then I joined roehl and I'll have to work with roehl for a little bit over a year before I get my 3,000 back, I recalled that they pay you a certain amount once you get certain miles.
I think they still have tuition reimbursement if you don't go to their school -
$3000.00, huh? Now, It is $7000.00 if a driver doesn't stay for 120,000 miles.
