Update for all of those that gave me all the great advice. I found another job driving. I'll be driving hotshot in the oilfield here in Oklahoma and Kansas. I was able to find a really great company and my accident never made it on my MVR since I had no tickets for it. Even if it had their insurance company only gives 3 points for an accident of any type and will cover you up to 6 points. I still disclosed my accident on my app and at the interview and the boss just asked me what I learned from it and told me not to roll his trucks. lol

Smart move being upfront about rolling the truck.

Hotshot, eh? QUIT TAKING MY SPOTS AT THE TRUCK STOPS! Go park in walmart or something...:biggrin_25517:

I'd rather be upfront and not get the job then lie, have them find out, fire me, and then have to crawl back to the old job, again.

As far as the truckstops we dont even have time to stop to load let alone stop at the truck stop lol. I'll mostly be home everynight. On the odd occaision I have to stay out over night the company gets me a Motel room so your parking spot is safe from me.

glad to see you found another driving job. i couldnt believe when i saw the post that you were just going to give it up and wait a few years. people make things sound much worse than they are when it comes to finding a driving job. i managed to find a driving job i love and even with your accident im sure you look like a much better canidate than me on an application. small companies are where its at, they treat you better, talk to you face to face, and are more willing to overlook incidents like this. i was devistated when i was turned down by all the megas but thank god i was every day now.

another thing i learned was not to believe all the horror stories about small local companies, if i had i wouldnt have this job and wouldnt be happy to go to work every day. i was told by countles people my company ran paper logs and expected you cheat them to the extremes and run over hours or be fired, i was told they run you to death then fire you when you complain. i was told alot of other crap, none of which was true. i talk to my boss every day weather its in person or on the phone and he's been very understanding even when i made a few mistakes. thats the good thing about a small company, most times the guy giving the orders either drove for a long time or still does and understands stuff happens. my boss is in his 70's, OWNS almost 100 trucks outright, manages running the company mostly by himself besides a secretary and the log guy and still drives a truck when he has time.

pounding on doors pays off, and knowing people in your area helps too. i never would have dreamed i would have scored a job like this right out of driving school. im home every other night, drive a 2015 freightliner with a bigger cat, and bring home about $1700 every 2wks. besides being told when to pickup (1 stop) and when to deliver (one stop) its all up to me. i run smooth bore tanker from pa to NC, SC, GA, or KY and come home empty.

dont ever sell yourself short or ever give up even when you feel like your out of options is the lesson i learned

hope you love your new job!
