If you go with a company that's near your home you should get home more often as they have a customer base near by to limit deadhead miles. So you could do a lot of out and back loads without getting stuck in a certain area like the east coast. I'm not talking about one of the mega companies I'm referring to small to midsize companies.

That only applies if you are looking at a small to medium carrier. The big carriers have freight almost everywhere.

You’d be surprised how little the name on the tractor has to do with anything. Most of these companies are pretty much the same. The one difference being YOU!

Pick what’s important to you (ie hometime, driver comfort, pay etc etc) and go in with a great attitude.

Attitude plays a HUGE part in this career-especially in the beginning. Many careers have been derailed by falling into that truck stop counter griping. Take everything you hear with a grain of salt.

When you listen to the guys crying about their situation you can usually hear why they’re in that situation to begin with. It’s uauslly “they tried to make me drive nights- no way” or “I TOLD them I won’t do nort east loads but they keep trying to send me there”. Etc etc.

Have a good attitude, pay your dues and the name on the door will take care of itself. Good luck brother.

Doesn't matter where the company is headquartered; they hire based on your zip code/hiring area you live in.
