I never touch a strap, my bar, or anything else to do with the load unless I have my gloves on.

I saw a CR England hand the other day with the ends of his pants tucked into the tops of his genuine fake snakeskin boots and wearing a 3 dollar Wal Mart cowboy hat. Now that I think about it, he had his gloves tucked into the front behind the belt buckle like he was about to wrestle some steers or ride a bull. The image you just gave me reminded me of him. I know he was going for the outlaw trucker look, but it came across as the John travolta "urban cowboy look", only if the movie was about a gay bar in the 80's. kind of a village people thing going.

I think that's not so much of a rookie driver thing as it is someone not as 'experienced' in hot, sunny climates. Being in AZ, instinctually I wouldn't grab an item that's been sitting in the sun without gloves. Has nothing directly to do with trucking I think, it has to do with the experience of living in hot, sunny climates and adapting to that. Next time you reach for it, and it burns your hands again, you'll remember your last time doing that. Won't be too long before it's instinctive not to. my 2 cents anyway.

    +1 for gloves.

There is always at least three pairs in my side panel box at any time, and probably two more pair in the cab.

$10.87 at WalMart for a pair of large cowhide work gloves. Worth the protection.
