What s even worse for this driver, not only a DOT Recordable on 1st trip, totaling out a brand new truck, but their health insurance hasn t kicked in with Schneider if they get their insurance there

Many incidents have proven ELD's or the HOS do not make a driver safe.

Could you imagine the adrenaline kick that driver was on. First trip, brand new truck.
I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep for a day prior to leaving.
    In those circumstances.

so now I am really interested to know the load details. And what part of his shift was this..

Fell asleep so it seems to suggest they put him on an overnight run to start. Which if true , is ####ing stupid on the planners/90 day dbl part.

The article said that the driver had a passenger with them. I don t know if Schneider allow passengers that soon, or that was a team operation

Another thing I notice too that there are several truck stops in that area, along with a rest area within 20 miles prior to that crash. Kenly was only 17-18 miles back, as well as a rest area 10 miles back

This would be a Workman's compensation claim
    Not personal health insurance.

A lot of these megas put new drivers in brand new trucks. I guess it boils down to availability. The funny part is when the fairings are missing, the back of the cab crunched, and the two toned bumpers lol

    Badmon and Jazz1 Thank this.
