Showed up the customer, checked in with security and pulled into the loading rack. Let the loaders know we were there and got back in the truck. Trainer fell asleep shortly after, I followed and got a good hour nap in. 2 hour drive to the customer, followed by another hour and a half nap while getting unloaded. 2 hour drive back to the yard and back at the house by 1630.

Rough line of work, how do you guys do it.

Just wait until you have to do a 120' pump offload of hazmat during summertime in the South.

Wait till winter, when your internal valve is stuck frozen and you have to sit there with a blowtorch for 4 hours while in -5F weather.

Or you have a 4 pot trailer, each requiring 40ft of hose, full chem suit, and check calls each time.

    What’s that load pay you?
The rough part of the job may be not going broke.
But then the driver you’re replacing probably made so much he retired

    Wow!

Driver didn’t set brake, but the truck at first doesn’t move. Than when he starts putting the gas in the tank it lightens the weight of the truck causing the truck to roll and then a massive spill.

I used to haul gas. We had a guy hook up and start dropping, and he broke the rule that you don’t leave the truck while loading or unloading.

He went into the station to flirt with the female cashier and apparently hadn’t secured the drop gun as a customer came running in screaming where’s the driver, but it was too late. 1900 gallons on diesel on the pavement. The driver resigned immediately before they could fire him as he knew it was coming.

Luke628. The guy that was training me a long time ago, did a similar trick. Only is was at an elementary school parking lot. Kids running through the fuel and then going back inside. Upset the teachers quite a bit . All the guy that was training me said " it's not that bad". Loaded up the hoses and away we went ! Never said a word to anyone. He did have a quite intense chat with the boss the next day though
