I been saving for about 2 1/2 years . Correct me if im wrong , but my plan was to finance my truck and trailer . I have good credit . The money i have save is about twelve thousand (hard work but it feels good to kno i did it) . This was going to be my back up. I already have a website being build (SEO FRIENDLY) and a couple of other marketing tools that will help me find customers. I register my company name .

My wife & I are going to make the plunge shortly also...doing alot of research and contact work right now. Some savings...some borrowings...still debating on car carrier VS flatbed Hot Shot work. One thing we have decided on...it is scary diving into a self-proprietorship business but right now we both work 60 hr weeks in the transportation industry and makes lots of money for our bosses/owners and little for ourselves and with no ever guarantee of our jobs not disappearing one day...it seems only doctors and lawyers have "careers" and all the rest of us are here to do something until we're under the dirt....do what you can, when you can!

I'm already seeing alot of good folks in here...ready to help with great advice and I do appreciate your time and words. My wife & I have tried to talk with some hotshots we've seen at rest areas off of I-75 but it really depends on the character of the driver you speak to...most of what we got was, "You don't wanna do this job" replies... It's like anything else, if you put your mind, time and professionalism into your work, you will get noticed and get your returns...may take awhile, but keep on truckin'
