Possibly taking over payments of a decent trailer that company no longer needs and was trying to get a ballpark of what the monthly payments might be.

That's a broad question......Value of trailer, how much putting down ? etc. But if you're taking over the pymt, it's already set.

not sure. it’s a bit of a unique situation. hauled once a week for a company last year. they have no use for it any longer. he told me that there was still 2 years of payments left. haven’t gotten anything outside of that. kind of just waiting to see what he says and i thought i’d see if i could get an idea of the monthly payments. tried google search and that produced nothing, so thought i’d ask

that’s what i figured the case would be. taking over the payments more than likely and trying to get an idea of what the payments could be.

he said there were 2 years left of payments. i would imagine the payments are already set, so that’s what the payment would be. he didn’t indicate what the current payments are

So are you taking over the payments or paying him to make the payments?

I wouldn't trust him for payments being made.

I'd find out what the balance is and arrange my own financing to pay off his loan. Zero chance you get screwed that way. And your payments will be lower unless you stay with the 2 years left.

Making payments to him you might be paying more then his actual payments. He also might just pocket the money instead. And you lose the trailer inside of two months.

Unless you know the guy and absolutely trust him.

i do know and trust him. i think it’d be just taking over the payments, not paying him. just seeing if there is a ballpark number i can get for what to expect the monthly payment would be. he said he had 2 years of payments left

I don't know what vans are worth or what year model it is, but if it's just a few years old and you pay 1000 a month or less you'd be paying less than leasing it, but you gotta put insurance and tires.
