They financed a $38k trailer for 4 years? Oofta.

Find out what they owe and buy it outright from them.

If they put zero down the payment should be around $900 a month unless they got a ridiculous interest rate.

Just a heads up 2to 3 years ago trailers were ridiculously priced . It’s possibly that he owes close to what a new one goes for now.

Trust no one in business when it comes to your money, get the pay off and get your own financing

If he has two years left of payments and still owes $38,000. Then those payments are like 1700 bucks or better.

The best advice anyone can be given. Not just in business, life in general. Trust nobody and look out for yourself. Some people out there aren't afraid of dicking someone over for a couple bucks.

Why ask us, ask the guy who wants you to pay off his loan.

Nope, six years..... If its a 2020 & he still has 2 years left = 6 years. 72 months.

If he didn't put anything down and he financed at 3% before covid with tax title & licence.. round numbers $43000 = $592 per month

If he put down $42,900 on a $43,000 trailer at 3% before covid..... $1.39 per month... it can be anywhere in between.

I mean like @Allow Me. said, its a broad scenario.... very broad.
Down payment, before covid interest rate, after covid interest rate, taxes, title & licence etc.
From your info, all we know is he paid $38,000 & financed for 6 years.

No one knows what he paid. And put down. And his terms are. So no one can really give a ball park number.

I'll say this though. At today's rates my credit union will loan me $100g for 5 years @$1400 per month.

So half that. $50g for 60 payments would be $750.

If he bought in early 2020. He may have paid close to normal pricing. About May is when vehicles went crazy. Don't know about semis and trailers.
