Routed to templin hwy in CA seems odd

I will be leaving Long Beach CA heading for Richmond CA. I am overweight with permits and a route. My route has me 5 north to templin hwy east off ramp exit 183. Detour via ramps. From templin hwy westbound on ramp 5 north. i understand the rest of the route just this section I'm not familiar with. Any input would be helpful.

I was able to check it out in google maps It is just a quick off and on to avoid a short bridge. The wording on the route permit was not very clear to me. Thanks for the response.
