Stage yourself just outside of Atlanta and get up early.
    Weekends aren't too bad.
You have more to worry about in Helen.
    Have fun!

Ill tell you the best way to get there...take I-985/It eventually becomes US23----take that to GA 17 to Helen. GA75 off US129 is a good road also.

Forgot to mention that I am doing this towards the end of June. I’m really sorry. I have a lot on my plate right now and I’m just trying to pre-plan. My target route is 95 to 10 to 75 to 985 to 23 to 17. I want to leave Melbourne where I live at 4 AM to avoid Jacksonville traffic. My target goal is to hit Atlanta right around 11 AM. What is your opinion fellow members?

I-85 North out of Atlanta to I-985 , North of Gainesville this becomes 365 to SR 52 to
SR 283 to US 129 to SR 75 . This will take you into Helen , 75 thru the city isn't bad , but a lot of small streets and tight turns be sure you know where you're going. My truck is a 280 inch wb and I've been thru there with a 55 ton tri axle RGN .

Yes, I am driving my Honda Accord with my family. But I am mainly concerned about the Atlanta traffic. There is a possibility I could drive to Macon in the afternoon of the day before we go to Helen.

Don’t you trust iMaps, Waze, or Google ? It even lets you checked in advance for traffic and best time to leave.

Honestly in a 4 wheeler I’d never go near Atlanta….or use your interstate routing
I lived in Jax for years I ran off 295 to 23 north to 16 much easier and shorter than 10-75 and this in a semi
I’m your case I’d run 23 to McRae and catch 441 north there until it runs back into 23 ne of Atlanta then 23 to just outta Clarksville to 17 to Helen
    Much more relaxin and scenic
    Good luck
