Yeah idk about that monthly fee. I caught them at GATS a few years ago in Dallas. They do Mid America truck show too. I don’t pay that. But what’s $30 once a month. That’s one fill up at .25 cheaper than RTS. I’ve had RTS and NASTC. I’m still NASTC.

plus who really wants to fuel at PFJ, those little cramped parking spots, with a bunch of inexperienced mega drivers lined up to back into your hood every night. Not to mention the level of UNPROFESSIONAL activity happening at PFJ just trying to get fuel. The 30 min breaks at the pump taking showers, ordering all sorts of food while at the pump or pulled up. PFJ and Loves makes me sick trying to get fuel or almost do anything there, especially if I’m working.

You have to remember the discount from most of these fuel cards look really good because they are at places that inflate the price.25-.40 cent per gallon.
Using these two as a example that $30 bucks a month is a big difference.

I use RTS in the western states and I'm happy with it. PFJ I get .13 cents, and some mom and pop places I get .50 cents plus. I'll be filling up tomorrow morning at a mom and pop place in Oregon for $2.52 per gallon after a .38 cent discount. PFJ is closer to $3.00 per gallon after discount, but some days they run specials with .50 cents per gal off.

Just go to their class, its a one time thing and you can do it at MATS. Its no big deal. $4.25 per month card fee, no swipe fees. Theres no monthly safety requirement if you go to the class.

Right now I'm leaning toward RTS.

I'm sure that nastc does get better discounts, but the area that I'm in the difference between the discounts is not that large of a difference. I'm planning on working on a smaller radius so the overall amount of fuel purchased should be less. So at this point I don't think it's worth the 600 plus dollars a year, at least for me anyway.

But I will say this, if I was running across the country and I was putting as many miles on my truck as I possibly could every week, I would definitely use nastc.

Yeah, well that’s QuickTrip! Their fuel is always priced to go! Now PFJ and TA are almost always neck and neck for retail fuel prices (except at the gotcha locations like TA Baltimore and Baltimore South where it’s super hiked up)... but to each his own... I just really don’t like PFJ while trucking...in a car is fine... I like to stop at the places I can shower at and etc... so if I was RTS I would be spending the night at PFJ more which really irks me, the spots are 75% of the time just too unnecessary to get into. The rows are so close to each other almost always resulting in 90 degree backing in, which just isn’t good on spread axle tires. Then factor in PFJ is where a lot of the mega companies fuel, you got these same new drivers trying to back in at 12:33am when I’m trying to sleep. I can’t sleep watching these trailers get inches from me, I get out, help them, and throw a wrench in my sleep cycle.

I really dislike parking at PFJ. That alone almost does it for me lol. But RTS was cool, I enjoyed using the credit check service too. Before I canceled RTS I checked their Credit scores with
Welcome To Broker Credit Check And almost every one was spot on. Plus cross referenced with Ansonia.

But yea, I hear what your saying though. Discounts can be misleading, just like a higher paying percentage company who has lower rates.

Dang! Didnt know fuel was so expensive there! Attached a pic of todays prices using nastc. I picked nastc because of the fuel card and that safety program. The safety program has a nice feature that "they said" not enough people take adavangte of. So nastc is my drug consortiu . But they trained and certified my wife to administer drug tests. What that means is when I get pulled for a random they send the notice to my wife. I then have 30 days to get home where I pee in a bottle for my wife . Just makes things way easier for me then going to a place and sitting there for hours. The course to get certified is extensive and requires a good amount of studying. But this saves me time and headache. Worth it to me
