Probation is even worse. Its more likely they can fire you for this.

The job is physical and we have to deliver in high-crime areas. I think the company is relieved when they can find drivers that can do the job.

    Hm.

Ok. First off, I am not your opponent. crinkles happen with big rigs here and there, god knows Ive bent a few and witnessed worse.

I think you had me rooting for you when you mentioned the threat level being rather higher than most in your work and that of your company. If at all possible be prepared to pay cash to your company for the damage if it becomes necessary to protect your job and move on from this whole situation. Hopefully it wont be that bad.

I don't know what else to think, only that I have or we have rather for the most part have been incredibly lucky for the situations that did do damage on my part in the later years of trucking for some very good reasons.

You cause a few thousand dollars worth the damage, they wanted you to document it to get the insurance to pay for it and you have the nerve to consider telling them no?

kinda depends on the dollar amount.

to me, it sounds like a high dollar repair, over say a $50 repair

    i'd go with accident.

best to ask your employer's safety dept.

then if an accident, you must jot that down on every application you fill out, as it'll be on your personal file.

They honestly dont seem too worried about it. I was just worried about filling out something called an 'accident' report once I got hack and the thought of it it will follow me. There were no tickets involved though, so I'm good on that end. Do insurance companies communicate with one another in that regard? Like say I went to another company. Would there insurance company put a call out to the others asking if I've ever had any incidents? My state driving record is spotless as it stands right now.

Its an accident report, fill it out and don't get excited unless they call it an "on-purpose" report.

The stupid city in a beautification effort. Plus, these boxes and trailers are cheap as heck. I not sure why they dont use a low grade angle iron up there to tie everything together.
