Sell it somewhere else ya old fart. What do you have? 18 million miles under your belt and zero damage or accidents, right? Get lost.

And you have what, 18 miles under your belt? And already in a wreck. Wonder who will be the one to retire after having a good life...
And make no mistake. Feel good wording aside, you were in a wreck. Any time damage is done it is a wreck. Some people like feel good terms lie "Accident" or "incident" or "boo-boo" or whatever. It all boils down to the driver doing something that should not have been done.

Instead of focusing on the terminology, focus on what can be done in the future to prevent it from happening again. While wrecks are never fine, as long as you learn from it it's never a waste.

No, we are acting like we learned from it. Sorry you are not getting the echo chamber you want. We tend to be a little more professional than that.

Have I ever been in a wreck in a commercial vehicle? Well, that's between the insurance companies and my employer. Have I learned from it? Hugely.
What I did not do was try and minimize it and blame everyone else but myself. Once you can own your mistakes you can learn from them. Not until then.

And yes, I really do want you, and everyone, to succeed. Being a truck driver really isn't that hard for the amount we can make.

My post was to get opinions on accident vs incident and I described what happen. Then I have the vanguard of trucking in America come on here and call me a primate, tell me to grow some balls, etc etc. Chirping like theyre the hens on the view. I have people calling what happened a 'wreck' or whatever other crazy term they want to say. And all the while, you people do it without that squeaky pristine record that you ACT like you have. Or better yet, came up in a time where things werent SO TIGHT as they are in todays age, but yet willkick back now and wag your fingers.

Like I said, its silly. And I can ALSO see how unions in trucking got started.

i worked a union shop, and i can assure you that there isn't as much "protection" as you think for a driver that screws up and causes damages to the equipment.

you WILL be hauled in for a meeting, and from there, your fate will be determined...fired, or suspended(without pay), or on probation.

too many incidents WILL LEAD to suspensions (again with out pay), too many accidents WILL LEAD to firings.

you tout union talk, obviously, you do not currently work in a union.

don;'t go assuming that your job would be safe in a union, cuz you know what they say about "ASSUME"....

and this is the meaning of the word Vanguard.....

show me how this applies to trucking..??

    1. 1.
a group of people leading the way in new developments or ideas.
"the experimental spirit of the modernist vanguard"
    2. 2.
the foremost part of an advancing army or naval force.

i think so too, cuz his math is all wrong..to get 1 million miles takes (on average) 10 years....so to get 18 million miles, one would have to have driven for like what, 180 years..???

wow, if MY MATH is on point, i'd be there in about 140 more years myself..>!!!!

Well it aint wrong, is it? Is he an old fart? If I can be poked in the ribs, so can other people then. And since he was acting like he's NEVER done anything bad in a rig before, I just assumed he'd be the #1 top trucker of all time with about 18M miles under his belt. Accident and damage free, of course. Lol.
