I haven't had a chance to try it but I bought some generic trailer seals. Seal it lock it and even put a king pin lock on it. A friend put a KP lock on his empty in Gary. Someone coated it with grease.

In New Boston MI you remove your lock on a loaded trailer. They put an orange painted lock on them. Evidently problems with people breaking seals at some terminals.

sheeesh they greased it? how childish. Mira Loma puts their own lock on every trailer coming in...loaded or unloaded. I think Denver was the worst terminal trying to find a trailer. Also start carrying a variety of bulbs, etc to fix the lights, reflectors. Sometimes you can get a trailer that way.

When Pueblo term was still active. The terminal manager had the shop cut his pinlock off his empty trailer. He was just going to get something to eat in town and was back within two hours. My friend is still ticked off about that. And the wait time at a terminal to get something fixed is one of the many reasons I am no longer at swift.

First thing I did when I got my truck was tell the guy in the parts department. They ran around with a shopping bag and got me lights, wiper blades, a lock for the load locks, rubbers for the air lines.

Well, got a monthly deal with Virigin wireless without a 2 year commitment. My $50 IBM Thinkpad is qorking good. They use Sprint towers.

I am setting in NJ after making the planners mad. We'll see if I can get a load out of here in the AM.

Why is this doing slanted letters????:biggrin_2559:

Thursday I did a "high value" load. Nashville to Philly. I laughed when I found out what it was.

Snake oil! Well, Xango juice. I think the stuff goes for $20+ a bottle. It was loaded one box at a time and not on pallets. I was suppossed to drop and hook. 9:30 appointment. I got there at 8:45 after getting that questionable tire changed at Petro. I got loaded at 11:00. I only stopped for a grand total of 45 minutes for the entire day. 15 minutes to weigh this heavy load 42,000lbs. My gross was 75,400 or so. I guessed my settings on my trailer tandems withing 150lbs! Got rolling and stopped past Knoxville at a Scottish restaurant that advertised truck parking. 15 minutes again. I stayed rolling until Troutville VA at the T/A. Fueled and rolled out in less than 15 minutes. I wanted max miles because the shipper held me up. I barely squeeked from the 150mm in Troutville to the 195. I got into the Lee Hi T/S # 20:04 my 14 ran out at 20:00. There was no place to stop between there and the T/A except a rest area at the 156. And you had to get off and back track as it was only on the South bound side of I-81.

Sent my Macro 10 in the morning before 6. Then somone started messaging me to get rolling on to the final. 3 messages in a row. I was suppossed to be there by 14:00 at the latest. I gave an ETA of 13:45. Never had a 3 beep message before. If you get 3 fast beeps you are suppossed to check the Qcom ASAP. They told me to get rolling. I told them when I could legally do it and that was the end of that. The guy that loaded in front of me didn't have enough hours to get there on time. He didn't make it before I did.

I stopped an hour or so before I got to the final and did a Mac 10 so I could get a preplan faster. They sent me one. Another paper load out of the port of Philly. 2 stops, 1 in TN, and the other in KY. I had the vest. Didn't have the $50 cash for the "escort service." I would have to go to Paulsboro NJ and cash a Comcheck. I could have got a ATM out of my bank account and get reimbursed. Just I hate going anywhere out East as the truck restrictions are insane.

I declined as I didn't think I could get back for the 17:00 loading time. I don't want a service failure. They didn't offer to chage the time. Next time I go that way I'll have $50 tucked away.

I declined 2 other loads that I thought the same on. Couldn't do them due to Friday night traffic on I-95. I added a comment to send me West as I was not comfortable on the East Coast. I got a not so nice reply from an unknown person that I needed to accept something to get into a different planning area. I set my PTA for 7am Saturday and got some rest.

Got up at 4am and got a shower got my head together for the day. They sent me a preplan for another paper load. This one delivered in NC. It picked up in Staten Island. I declined as it was out of my comfort zone. I waited an hour and they didn't pull the PP off me. I messaged Memphis and they asked me why I was in NJ and thought NC wasn't in my zone? I told them I was not comfortable going to Staten Island. The plan was imeediately pulled off me.

3 hours later I got a preplan to deadhead 760 miles to Romeoville IL. 680 loaded miles to Staunton VA. I am sitting in Romeoville at the shipper. I load in the AM and head out.

Hometime is set for 8/1 I can hardly wait! :biggrin_25525:

    DRIVE FAST AND TAKE CHANCES!!!

I learned all of the travel plazas on the Ohio turnpikes have free trucker showers!

Yesterday morning I was in the Glacier Mountain travel plaza. When I got out to do my pretrip there was a Ohio DOT officer parked a couple hundred yards behind me with his headlights on. I did my pretrip and went inside for breakfast. :biggrin_25525:

Ever stop in a Sheetz? The music is so loud it's hard to think in there. Plus they play a lot of disco from the 70's and 80's :smt119 Believe it or not disco after all these years still SUCKS!!!!

Mom is on her way to here 55th high school reunion in Ohio. We are going to meet up between Wytheville, and Atkins VA. I haven't seen her in 3 years. She lives in SW Florida. Not much of a chance of getting there anytime soon.

I am typing this at the Best Buy DC in Verona VA. Got here at 03:45. My next load is at TRW in Atkins, delivering near Detroit. 170mi empty 489 loaded.

Runnin low on hours. I'll have a few to spare and nothing dropping off tonight.
