Gotta be careful in those places. Lots of Ninja's, Navy Seals and people that have to register their hands as deadly weapons with the FBI hang out in there. With so many of these people driving trucks, it is no wonder that DOT officers have to wear Camouflaged clothing!

When I hauled crude in NM our yard was across the street from the casino. Fenced in, gate locked overnight. Drunk dude comes out of the casino, decides to "help" himself to a tanker to go home. Our yard in Hobbs, his home in Clovis. He found a truck with keys on ignition, drove over the fence and made it to Clovis, where he abandoned the rig...

I've had my tandems pulled twice and my blue line taken off
I was lucky. The second time it was 40k of totes hitting the back door on 285 going around Atlanta. Nothing came out, screwed up my back, but it sure got my attention.
By the way, the douchebag that pulled my tandems also put grease on my 5th wheel handle.

Yeah, I've seen this video before.
I've heard of a guy being caught pulling a 5th wheel handle. From what I was told, the cops showed up first. Then some folks representing the D.O.T.
Followed by some suits from the F.B.I.
It seems he was charged with interfering with interstate commerce.FlaSwampRat, D.Tibbitt and HoneyBadger67 Thank this. -
A friend of mine who has been driving 25 years without an accident had his pin pulled while he slept. It was in Aurora OR at the TA. Homeless guy was asking drivers for money and my friend told him no. The guy asked again and he told him to F-off. Then his pin got pulled that night. He dropped his loaded trailer in the main intersection at the off-ramp for I-5. Cop said that was the 3rd time in a month. Pretty much check to make sure mine is secured every morning during pre-trip.
I caught some people trying to pry open my jockey box at the Pilot in Tollison AZ.

Do me a favor and stay clear of Miami, would ya?
That's certainly an incident that would remain in forefront of my thoughts for the next day or two.FlaSwampRat Thanks this. -
That will NOT be a problem. I have been retired since 2012 and have no real reason to go that far south. I will be making a trip to the Gainesville area after my surgery. I hope you took no offense at my comment about Miami. There are good folks there. I used to deal with several when I was driving. it just seemed like when I went something stupid always happened. Same with Houston. Chicago is a world onto it's own.FlaSwampRat and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this.

I was warned "dont get into trucking, you won't make any money".

No offense taken. I've never even been to Miami. Ft. Pierce has been my furthest destination southwards in Florida.
Fortunately, I've only been to Chicago twice. No thanks. The suburbs are fine, but not the city.
Katy, Texas seems fine.FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
