Why did the government let Chinese tires for semis be sold in the us in the first place ? With the catastrophic potential a semi can cause with a crappy steer why?

    Why?

I looked at Aeolus. Have a friend who runs them and loves them. Couldn't do it. Saved $100 a tire between Michelin and the BF Goodrich, and the Bf's are lower rolling resistance. St244 steers 16 ply and dr454 14 ply.

Can't say on the truck tires. But will compare them to the China pos I bought for my Harley. It rode like crap and got maybe 1/4 the miles the other name brand get.

A Chinese steer tire on a truck is just begging for a problem. A Chinese front tire on a motorcycle is suicide.

I have the michellin xze on steer. doing well. the last 5 years went with the b.f. st244 like them, but no one had any in stock when I needed last set of steers so went with the xze. after having the b.f. 16 ply st 230 on my drives, not one complaint in any way, except for the price. 4 grand. went with chinese annaite lug drive this time. cost over 50 % less needed much weight to balance, but so far 80,000 miles no issues. always quality on steers. michelin or b.f. but for the price, on drive or trailer... virgin chinese. keeping proper p.s.i. I think helps too. I have went to the chart on recommended p.s.i. for my weight, tire size, position e.t.c. & put in as per chart. I am surprised at the perfect & even wear on all 8 drives, @ 85 lbs.

Hi I'm that person. third year with Gladiators on the Steers. Goodyear on the drives, will be putting new Gladiators on the drives by spring. These tires were 1/3 of the others. And I pulled Michelin off the front, for me they were junk. These are wearing smooth. Each tire took 2 oz's of weight, the Goodyear's after having them cut. Still took 4 to 7 oz. Toyo's before that the fools had 10 to 16 oz's on them. I make them swap out tires until they got the weight down to 6 ozs or less. And they still sucked..
