The truck in my avatar is an '08. I had nothing but trouble with it for 2 years. The boss bought 2 '09 models with the exact same engines and they haven't been in the shop one single time. It seems to be the '07 and '08 models that are having the most problems. My truck was in the shop at least 8 or 10 times in 2 years for DPF issues. One thing we realized was all but one time it was sensors. We thought maybe the system just ran too hot and the sensors couldn't take that much heat. All but 2 '08s are gone now.

Yep, owner/boss says that the '07s were the worst. The guy I ran with last week has a 2010, and has had a little trouble with it. He told me that he had to limp it over 100 miles at just 40mph max, then spent 1-1/2 days getting the thing fixed. Just hope the PACCAR engines that are in the T800s (yuk, yuk, double-yuk) are better than these ACERTs.

You have the Cat or Cummins in that truck? Our trucks had the Cummins. When the DPF wasn't acting up that was one of the best running and best pulling trucks I've ever drove.

So to the guy who is trying to install new factory run coax cable in a 2006 and newer Peterbilt I just did it and it took me about two hours you have to remove the aluminum box on the bottom of your mirror bracket where at least mines aluminum yours could be plastic Then you have to remove the plastic interior up both of the outer columns to the left and right of the windshield on the inside. I then also removed the small panel that houses your ignition switch and the glove box to help get access to where the cable comes into the truck lastly I removed the panel above the CB radio depending on whether you have heated mirrors and power mirrors you may or may not have several cables going through The tubing that makes your mirror bracket if you do have both of those it is a little trickier to fish the new cable through the tube I first tried just black taping the new cable to the old cable and pulling the old cable out and the new cable and it worked OK for one of my mirrors but other not so well but I did find what works really well is if you have a 1 inch ratchet strap use the strap portion wrapping it around the end of the new cable after fishing the strap through the mirror bracket using a clothes hanger then I wrapped the strap around The new cable length wise this worked really well because where is the fitting is on the end of the cable having black tape above and below made the attachment of the cable to the strap very secure so after using the strap to fish the cable through the mirror bracket I then black taped the new cable to the old cable where the old cable went into the body I only found two zip ties one behind ignition switch and one in the upright column easily cut after removing the access panels so from this point the rest of the fishing of the new cable in the truck by pulling the old cable out work very well. Like I said the only place I had problems was in the mirror bracket itself and that is only because I do have heated mirrors and power mirrors so there already several other cables in that mirror bracket but using the strap like I said taping it with black tape to the new cable running the strap parallel with the cable and wrapping it around the cable taping above and below the fitting on the end which made it very secure and allowed me to pull on the strap hard enough to get it around the bend in the mirror bracket if you haven’t already pulled the old cable through the mirror bracket use the old cable to fish your strap through the mirror bracket if you did like I did and tried to just use the old cable from the beginning and my tape came apart in the bracket just use a wire hanger to fish the strap through the mirror bracket hope this helps sorry for the run-on sentence .
