Running in Heavy Snow Regions Worth It?

Stopped at Albert canyon brake check and watched someone pull out skis and skins. Was thinking it might be a good idea to take mine along with me

 

During a visit with extended family in Saskatoon over Christmas a few years ago, I got a chance to try out a sled. Imagine being on a wicked fast dirt bike riding across a field, except that all the holes and stumps are hidden. Good times!

PS, to be fair they pointed me on known safe terrain. It was -20º and I caught a head freeze like eating ice cream too fast. It really was a blast. They said the sled I rode would do about 80mph flat out. I'll stick with 2 wheelers to be sure.

Hours of boredom followed by moments of sheer terror, and then more hours of boredom.

Yes it’s great running in snow. You will feel you are getting your nickels worth on life insurance premiums

Trailer will start dancing on you. Even Matthews AR where it's flat when it's icing watch out!

 

I would say yes and no......there is a level of snow where you can run still, and there is a level of snow where it's impossible to run ....most of the time, I plan to run...most as in 98 percent I'd the time. After a few winters it becomes second nature. It hasn't hit December and I've already had a good dose
