2 weeks on my own and today I was told they are in jeopardy of losing this load I'm on. It's rolls of paper from the mill.

I was running out on my 70 about 3 hours Short to complete the load. This was caused by running hard a few days and a lot of on duty logged time partly my fault and part my fleet managers fault on a previous 1400 mile run that will take to long to explain. Yesterday I locked my key in the truck at the shipper so I was logged on duty customer check-in for over an hour with the key ########. So then when I got the door open from my company I had to sit inside to be loaded this mill doesn't allow you to sit in the truck at all. My previous load that same morning the cosignee same thing gotta wait inside the building so about 6 hours yesterday logged on duty time. If that wasn't burned I could have easily made this. I woke up this morning at 230 to be at the cosignee by 11. Was only 200 miles. So after I woke up I saw about 7 hours left on my 70 clock. I had no signal where I was on my phone so I drove 20 miles still no signal so I messaged dispatch letting them know I can't.make it.

There was a Petro right in town of the cosignee I could have made the drive but a live unload would put me out of time.

Anyway I'm sitting here at the loves doing my 34 and waiting to hear back about someone taking the load off me unless they reschedule it for when my reset is done.

My question is how bad is this if they "lose the load". Am I in jeopardy of losing my job? I've been on my own 2 weeks completed only 7 loads.

You can EDIT all of your time that isn't driving to get some of that 70 back.

EDIT: Well, that is if you haven't approved your logs yet.

How would he go about doing that? About to start school for my CDL next week so just wondering how to use my 70 to the max.

If I can remember, I go off duty every time I stop the truck. That is when I believe I will be someplace longer than 1/2 an hour. Dispatch says do it. But, I go over my 14 continually, so I guess it really doesn’t matter. But I get my breaks in!

They told us only safety can edit logs. Even if I could the only on duty time I would assume they could change is when I locked my key in the truck.

Any work related stuff not driving is on duty. Like when I have to sit inside the building during loading and unloading it's logged on duty customer load/unload in our PC.

This is exactly what I always did. And not just when I thought I would be longer than a 1/2 hr. You never know when you go to check in somewhere that you won't be kept waiting. I'd rather have to change the log from off duty on on duty than the other way.

If you have to approve your logs, you can edit them. Take a picture of the screen where you can review your logs and post it.
