recently had this happen with a consignee, told them I would run out of hours in 45 minutes, they had to get me unloaded in 30 minutes, they refused delivery. Came back next morning, they unloaded me in 20 minutes????? and had me on my way. We charged them an extra stop fee and a yard pull fee since they screwed us over.

Well seems to me if they have a staging area for you sit a few hours until your placed at a door
they have a place for you to take a 10. First thing is you don't ask them if can take a ten. Just drive back to that staging area and take one.

LandShark has a point, if you don't tell them, I really don't think most of them pay attention to whose sitting there. They just assume you're waiting for a door and keep on their merry way. I have done that.

It has nothing to do with not liking change or being afraid of elogs. I don't need a darn baby sitter in my truck. I can do my own paper work and logs. I don't need a computer or someone in an office hundreds, if not thousands of miles away, doing them for me.

You might be cool with a "big brother" system, but personally, I'm not. Too many sheep in this world....

Calm down. It is my opinion nothing more, I was against them for many years before I got them. You don't have to like them, no skin off my back. FYI you are still doing your own paperwork and logs. The log sits in your screen until you hit approve and send every couple of days, and you can also edit everything but the drive time, and your paperwork is the same it's always been. It's not really a big deal and certainly not worth arguing about. Plus, all your paperwork is from and will end up back in a computer somewhere.

What's with all this "big brother" crap I see everywhere? If you are all so paranoid about "big brother", why are you even on the internet in the first place? Better yet, why do you even have a job?

I thought you can legally drive up to 30 minutes past your 11 to find safe haven. So what is the problem?

I do something similar with a shipper we deal with in Tucson. They don't load trailers until 5pm but will let you drop it in the dock early. This last time I dropped the trailer in the dock at 1100 and left my logs on line 1. Bobtailed to the triple T and took a nap until 5. Came back, hooked up, got my bills and pulled out of their lot. Snuck back to the triple T and kicked back until 2130 at which time with a 15 min on duty time on either end, I logged a 10 hr break. Cheating, yes.
