Not all companies relieves you of duties. It will be noted in a letter in your cab card book what restrictions are placed on the drivers in relation to the equipment.

Actually, it only has to be on file at the company. You don't have to have it in the truck.

This happens frequently where I work, and I do mean this is very common
.I have found it best to scope out the situation, call ahead to the customer and see what their parking policy is.

I simply make sure in advance that if I bring them their stuff and run out of HOS while sitting there that I can sleep there for 10 hrs.
If they say no I cannot park there I tell them I will need to see them the next day.
then I proceed to the next available place to shut down and come back when they say I can.
it generally works out well....except for one thing.
Next day I have to listen to my dispatchers cry like babies when they see what I have done. :biggrin_2559:

fortunately my safety dept. backs me up 100 % on choosing the correct course of action.

Dont let receivers and or dispatchers cost you your CDL

Just so everyone knows, HOS violations do not affect your CDL. Too many OOS orders may affect your employability and / or insurability, but your CDL is not affected by any roadside inspection violations.
