What percentage does a company usually get when you sign up and run under their authority? I am buying a truck from a friend in the oil patch. But he wants me to run under his authority until the the truck is paid off. I am figuring about 3 months or so.

What all are you getting with it? When I hauled cattle I gave 15% for trailer and authority and I found my own work. Currently I give him 3% for only authority and his wife going to the bank for me.

10-30%
What you pay vs what they pay will dictate whether your deal is good or bad. For instance if they pick up 20k of insurance, plates, ifta and do invoicing for 25% vs you doing all that and they get 20%
