If the weather report says snow level 6500ft; is it better to be below or above that altitude?

It's better to be below that because then it'll just be rain

That's what I figured. There was another driver trying to say better above because it will be snowing below the snow level and that just didn't make any sense to me.

Plymouth Poultry in Seattle is now #1 on my list of crazy tight docks.

I have been to Seattle, once, a couple of weeks ago. I went to this place called Transload. Same thing. Also, if you enter off of the street, very easy to get stuck in a sticky situation.

I got there at 2 in the morning, when the place was empty, and ended up in a tricky situation where trying to turn around was a nightmare. Finally got turned around, found a little nook to snuggle up against for the night. Later that morning the cluster-**** began. The place was packed, docks were super tight. Everybody kept coming in and having to blind side back to a dock to get turned around, and then wait for their turn to get into these tight docks.

Once in the dock, you couldn't even leave until the person two docks to your left was gone because you'd hit their tractor. You get the picture.

Some guy showed up there who had been on the job for only two weeks. Getting to this place, he had missed a turn and dragged his trailer across a building while making a tight turn. He showed up with a huge gash in the side of his trailer, and the thing was ready to collapse as well. They unloaded him anyway, and while trying to get into a dock, he bashed his tractor against a telephone pole and messed his tractor up as well. He had one of those trailers where you can't adjust the tandems and they were almost to the end of the trailer. I only mention this because it added to the cluster-******* and chaotic nature of the place.

We can turn down loads and that's one of the reasons I like being a lease operator. I think Seattle is off my list...just like much of the northeast. I've turned down a few loads while being here and I never got spanked for it...yet. As a matter of fact, I got a different load two minutes later 99% of the time.

I talked to a guy that has been here a few years and he won't go north of I70 during the winter. I won't go that far, but you get the idea.

So i get a Preplan and the pick up is today heading to Utah. I accepted the load then read the drop date is 12/29 I am pretty sure that is a mistake but if not I guess I will be real freaking early LOL

The Plymouth docks are on a narrow side street with trucks parked all over waiting to dock. Once I finally was docked, my truck blocked over half of the side street. There was literally only 8' from my bumper to the curb. Same situation as your's in that you had to wait for trucks next to you to leave before pulling out. I'm still wondering how I got in that dock with trucks on either side. I did see a couple of local guys do it like it was second nature even with full sleepers. I talked with one who was explaining why you could get in with neighbors but not pull out. He told me he was in there several times a week and every time there is at least one driver that takes 30-45 minutes to get in. I don't feel too bad about spending several minutes with multiple pull-ups to get in.

Of course I pick the parking space where the truck in the next space has something wrong with the air system causing the air dryer to pop off ever 30 seconds. But I'm just gonna deal with because I have an awesome easy out impossible to be blocked in spot.
