Running with JCT, Part Deux

Please tell me you didn't pay for that nonsense. Sometimes, it's all I can do to keep from thumping some of the morons they charity-hire in a truck stop.

 

It's more like they hate ME! They hate me and are trying to kill me. Even had one follow me around the country for a couple weeks. Thought it was gone when I dropped it, lo and behold, my next load a few days later from the same place had me picking up that freak of nature and dragging it around again. It went to Laredo with a relay driver. I hope it got across the border and stripped for parts.

 

I got one right now R5648 and it pulls strait!!!! I'm getting 6.8 with it and EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!!

I am one stunned driver...

 

Get ready to glue the top of your head back on... this wasn't even at a truck stop.

This was a stand-alone establishment. I suspect it was a (poorly managed) locally owned franchise.

 

Should give corporate a call. Most companies will shower you with free stuff to make up for your horrible experience and it might actually do some good. I used to work in management for Sbarro's prior to becoming a trucker, it wouldn't be the first time a store got secret shopped then shut down after a customer complaint.

 

There's no way that corporate is unaware of that store's food safety rating, there's nothing I could have said that they don't already know.

 

I get to Lopez Foods ontime in OKC only to be told they are far behind and to park at the truckstop and we will call you when ready. WTF!!!

On the bright side, got a preplan picking up at the yard and going to Tracy ,CA.

Also, got $150 layover for the wait in Greeley.

 

And the hits keep coming. Lopez Foods just called me. They are so far behind schedule that they will not be able to get to me tonight and will be second in line when they open at 0430 tomorrow.

 

Looks like you can hit them up for Detention pay now.

I just got 300.00 layover pay for having to sit in Florida a couple of weeks back.

But I did end my week with 3900 miles with an average mpg of 8.0 while running 68mph the whole way because of tight schedules. I love my EVO. That is because I had some nice light loads for once and was killing it on the mpgs.
Now I am picking up in Houston tomorrow am as I could not run today because my 70 was on fire and i did not pick up more hours til tomorrow. I am picking up at Tyson in Houston and heading to Denver. I am supposed to get a swap to start heading me home since I have been out for a month. Wifey is starting to get a little heated cause I have not shown face for a while. LOL

 

I got my hometime set for next weekend. I will take this load out to Tracy and probably get a load going Ft. Worth like last time I went home from Tracy.

Wife wants me home one more time before I take our oldest kid on the road with me all summer.
