I turned into a cripple a couple days ago, had to crawl out of the truck because I couldn't even stand up & didn't want the rescue squad to tear out the seat to get me out of there.
$1200 (and a separate ambulance bill that I have yet to hear word about), 3 morphine shots, and 21 percocets later, I'm recuperating in a motel room while anti-inflammatory steroids and muscle relaxants kick in so I can regain the use of my legs.
The nurse told me the doctor didn't often prescribe narcotic pain relievers (like I should be impressed that my inability to move without being in agonizing pain was not interpreted as drug seeking behavior). I choked back my normal snarky remark and just said it's hard to fake pain when you're already high as a kite on morphine. Still snarky, I know... but tame for me.Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
I hate to say it, but JCT isn't working out well for me.
I like the folks in the office, the way folks treat me is 90% of the reason I've stuck around this long... but great people or no, this truck is a nightmare to ride in, and running solo miles as a team isn't sustainable.
If I was retired and simply wanted to be paid to tour the country with my wife or significant other, it'd be awesome (if we had a better truck, that is). Trying to actually turn team miles here at JCT has been impossible, though.
If things don't significantly improve in a fairly quick manner, I don't see myself staying with the company. Once all the expenses are taken out, there's just not much meat on the bone when you're splitting 2-3k miles between 2 people. -
And on another note, here's what a Jeep Cherokee looks like when it's driven by an idiot that rear-ends a trailer:

Mike also has a pic of the guy's interior (the steering wheel and shifter are all messed up, it's nuts). What's truly sad is that this happened in a 35 mph area.
