During the winter they have no problem doing that. During the spring and summer when there is no snow; then they tend to stick the paid routing of I-15, I-70, I-76, I-80 to North Platte. Going another route is on the that driver.

They have no issue with running 70 during the spring/summner. They just don't want you on it during this time of year because of weather conditions.

When I was OTR, I would still run 15 to 80 during the summer anyway. It's only about a 100 mile difference but made up for it with better fuel economy vs running the 70.

I have been here at JCT 3 months but otr 30 years. I will run back roads to save miles and add to my bottom line.

Not to mention running across 70 if you're fully loaded 80000 pound Max 70 will take you all darn day just to get across because of the constant up-and-down..

    Jarhed1964 and MachoCyclone Thank this.

I’m averaging 6.7 mpg on this 40,000 pound chicken load. Is that ok? Or could I do better? I’m just trying to get a picture of how I could run. I’m doing about 65 mph at 1200 rpm
