Glad to see the 10.1mpg wasn't a fluke. The main difference on this run (same as the 10.1mpg) is the load is 900lbs lighter, but had a light head wind and hit every red light on US287 in Ennis.

But 9.8mpg is still excellent and shows that with the way this truck is geared; 57mph at around 1050rpm is the sweet spot.

I've seen some shady looking landing gear, but this looks dangerous. Good thing it's not one of ours. Told the shipper about it and they were aware and waiting for the company to come get, but their drivers keep refusing to get even though it's empty.

You already know the reason for that. I've seen you and most of the regulars in this thread say the same thing about your drivers and I'll say the same thing about most of the drivers at my company.... they don't want to be bothered by taking it to a shop and getting it fixed. You will hear excuses like, "I don't have time to deal with that", "my 14 is almost up and there's no where to park", etc. It really boils down to the quality of drivers being put in trucks now. So many of them just. don't. care.

Sad part is that it was probably a spotter that did it. Have seen spotters dropping trailers while still moving.
Anytime I see landing gear at an angle like that, I assume that's what happened.
And you just know shipper/consignee isn't taking responsibility for it.

Normally I would agree with you on this, however, this is at a customer that I go to on a regular basis. I know how they shuttle trailers around their yard and know the yard drivers and supervisor.

So, when they say that a driver from that company dropped it like that a couple of days ago and the fact they are refusing to load it until the company gets ot fixed; I'm going to believe them.

Is it possible they are lying? Sure. But, I have no reason to think so.

I've seen drivers abuse trailers at these yards as well. Of course they typically are hitting other trailers while trying to drop their's.
Was at one of our shippers in the Phoenix area recently when a spotter dropped a loaded trailer while going 15 mph or so. Literally happened 50 feet in front of me. Scared the heck out of me! Folded the landing gear straight back. It wasn't one of our's.

JBS in Cactus, is this one of those places that have on site wash outs?

I think they do, but it's been a couple of years since I've been there.
