Running with JCT, Part Deux

Jarhead, do you think its slow for you because of the truck issues or are you just not getting miles? Or truck issues keeping you from getting miles?

 

Neither. My guess is that it is just luck of the draw. AC or not, I am still running. This load just isnt ready and Im guessing it was probably the only thing the planners had close to my drop in Miami. Add to that Sysco lumpers taking pretty much all day to get that chicken off o the load I rescued. I think Chad will run me good though. Just hit his board today.

 

I know for me, the miles are low due to having to stay close to home the first week. Then having freightliner in dallas hold my truck hostage really didn't help the situation. My two pre plans would have put me sitting pretty if I didn't have to give them up (first was because I had to stay close to home, the other was because the old truck broke down on the way to the yard to swap out). They at least they tried to put miles in my pocket while dallas had my truck. Ran from dallas to Jacksonville fl and back then to ochelata then to the yard. Now I have my new love, I set and ready to roll. Hope the shop hurry with this trailer. Its a long way to Elizabeth NJ, and an 8 am delivery has kicked rocks 3 hours ago.

Laughed at dispatch when they wanted to know if I could deliver this soda to Glenn Mills PA from Charlotte NC today. I'm not loaded yet and been on the clock for almost 8hrs.

They already read me the riot act for swapping a trailer with an expired inspection with a legal trailer at a company that consolidates and forwards freight to our terminal. So, yeah...

Good reminder. Gotta start peeping the inspections on every trailer I touch...and making sure there is coolant and oil in the reefer. Did you hit the driveline yet?

 

Watching the orientation videos now. I am set up for Monday orientation. I was looking at the JCT site again and do they really pay the fuel taxes? I ask because the company I am leaving, I pay the fuel taxes.

 

Yes, they pay fuel taxes.

At the rate Freightliner is working they'll not be paying much for me. I'm totally unimpressed with any part of this dealership.

 

yes over here we only focus on retail price as the road taxes are covered for us.

 

Mmmmm... Moo-goo-gai-pan. Did a little shopping and housekeeping here in the walmart parking lot. Grabbed a bottle of Mobile Delvac at WM prices, then across the street to the Chinese foos joint. My Doctor will probably give me an extra prostate exam in return for not being able to follow his instructions.
