I'm not understanding that last sentence....the part about unlimited but $15 per scan. Has JCT changed their price for scanned trips? To the best of my knowledge, you still get 10 late trips per calendar year (Jan - Dec). Once you use them, that's it until Jan 1 of the next year. I ask because I've never used a late trip or scanned a trip as there is never a need to....PERIOD.

I'd like to point something out for those of you out there that are concerned about dropping a trip before the cutoff and scanning a trip or using a late trip.....

With the variable lease program at JCT, it doesn't make a penny difference if you turn in your trips each week, every other week, or once a month. You will get paid the EXACT same amount.

Here is the breakdown: You have your fixed expenses each and every week (Base $120, insurances, Qualcomm, Drivers Legal (optional) and ATBS (optional). That amount doesn't change. So, if you don't turn in a trip a particular week, you will only be charged the total of those items. For example, mine is $290.93/week.
You get charged $.18 - $.22/per mile (depending on the truck) for truck payment and $.07 - $.10/mile maintenance escrow. I'll use my truck as an example: 2014 Freightliner Cascadia Evolution. So..... if you turn in 2500 miles, payment will be $725.00 ( 2500 x .21 and 2500 x .08. So again, if you turn in 2500 miles/ week or 10000 at one time at the end of the month, you will bring home EXACTLY the same amount of money.

    Fixed cost of $290.93/week x 4 weeks = $1163.72/month
    Variable cost of $.29/mile ($.21 = $.08 x 10000 = $2900.00
    Total monthly cost = $4063.72
Your total due to JCT for the month is the same whether you pay them in 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks. The point I'm trying to make is this: You should never have to late trip or pay to scan a trip in. If you don't get it in that week, you'll get it the following week. It all balances out. Of course there are situations that arise and you absolutely need that big paycheck the following week, but how many of you pay your other bills every week? Unless you have a house full of "rent to own" furniture that you pay on each week, you have 1 monthly bill. One mortgage/rent payment, one utility bill, one car payment, etc.
Save that $12 or $15 scan fee and/or late trips for REAL emergencies. It doesn't sound like much, but it adds up over the course of a year, and once your late trips are used, that's it until next year....no matter what. You get 10/year. PERIOD.

One last note.....I don't advocate holding your trips for a month; I was merely trying to point out a fact. Don't get caught up in that "I have to scan or late trip" mentality.

The reason I needed to get it in this week is because I do in fact have a group of bills that I pay each week. This week it might be creditor a and b, next week it will be b and c. Being that I just started, I wanted to get them in for that reason and to get a more accurate picture of how I am doing, especially with the small fortune I am spending on coolant.

I am not to worried about a cutoff for getting a load in. I have only dealt with the scanners for transflo and trippak. Where do you get the envelopes for free? The drivers I have seen needing those have paid for them at the truckstops.

Ask for them at the Sapulpa terminal. Get a ginormous stack of them, as you really never know how long until you'll get back there. And yea, they're free.

Yuk. 7mpg since Tuesday. Hoping its that egr. Have rarely been above 63, progressive shifting as much as possible, 76.72% in top gear, but only 59% in cruise (combination of cruise control crapping out, and a LOT of back roads today and yesterday).

By the way, whoever stole my landimg gear crank while I was rolling down the turnpike, knock it off.

Probably one of those Navy types like Camaro355. We all know they are theives and ne'er do wells.
