Truck is now done. It now has brand new upgraded S-cams. Got my stuff moved over and arranged. Satellite radio has been transferred to the new radio in the truck. Now for some sleep and to get a load in the morning.
Whoever had this truck before me, added chrome accents to all the switches and HVAC knobs and the three gauges not behind the clear plastic. I personally wouldn't spend the money on that, but I'm not going to take it off either.Last edited: Dec 16, 2014
Steel Tiger Thanks this. -
Enjoy the new truck. Hope you are happy with it. We are supposed to start getting the last of the new trucks in for our company this week. They are 2015 Cascadia's with 10 speed and Cummins engines. We shall see how they do.
On a separate note I might call JCT and talk to someone else in recruiting besides Holly after first of the year. Still looking to become l/o. -
Need some experienced advice. Just talked to a driver with the company I drive for and was advised that our freight will dry up after the 1st of the year. Debating on coming to JCT now or after the 1st of the year. Does the freight at JCT slow down during the holiday season?
-
Now, I can tell from my personal experience here that the 1st quarter of a new year have been some of my most productive quarters.
We have freight year round. Orange juice is a year round commodity as well as meats. JCT will keep you busy as long as you have hours and are willing to work. One of the great things about JCT is the variable lease. So, if you have a bad week due to home-time, shop, etc., you pay your lease payment only on the miles you turn in. No more worries about making that fixed payment every week. -
Thanks Steel, I appreciate your honesty. Another thing I like about you guys in thhis forum....tell it like it is...we"re all adults. Ya"ll be safe and see ya soon.

Spent my first night in the new truck. The heater on the Carrier apu kept the truck nice and comfortable on low heat. On high, it was way to warm for my comfort.
-
Those APU's ain't that bad Macho. One thing you will have to get used to is no inverter for power running down the road. During the summer that AC should just about run you out as well. As long as it is properly charged anyways.
Oh and if it comes on while running down the road. It needs to go to the shop. It will over charge your batteries.
They can either turn the charging system off or put the safety key switch on it.MachoCyclone Thanks this. -
I'm having a brain fart. The loads I turn in tomorrow through Wednesday will be paid on January 1st? I think that's right. Right?

MachoCyclone Thanks this.
