Not sure of his situation, but it could be that he got charged for reefer fuel. One thing they will tell you in orientation is if you need reefer fuel, make sure you send a Macro 34 so that you DON'T get charged for it accidently. Bottom line, if you DO NOT follow JCT policies involving money, they are not obligated to reimburse you because you didn't do what you were supposed to. This includes money spent for lumpers, washouts, reefer fuel, tolls, etc. All these items are paid or reimbursed by JCT. BUT, you have to follow their guidelines. What is sad though is the procedures are SO SIMPLE AND EASY. Save yourself the headaches and pay attention to everything they tell you, and if you're not sure ASK, ASK, ASK. Be it the office or a mentor, or another driver that knows the policies here.

Funny you mentioned that, I too ran into a driver in toughkenamon, pa having problems with is first seat. Then he said no one makes money here. I stopped him in his tracks and told him I've made money here! My first week n I stayed close to home, ran 1700 miles and still netted a grand. Plus I had my foot in it! Just think if I didn't have my foot in it. Now I'm trying to get these doughnuts off my truck. Stinking thing are attracting the cops. Had one follow me for about 10 miles in Ohio and then one pulled me over in Illinois and did a level 3. Doughnuts equal trouble.

Oh.....FYI....the Super 8 does have a computer in the lobby that you can use to print if you need to. And you can't beat the price.....free.

Just got in it three weeks ago. 2012. Had 387k on her. Just got out of the shop. We fou d a tiny hose leak that I missed but neither of us think that could lose a gallon a day. Pressure test showed no loss. They put a new clamp on the hose, refilled my 10 coolant bottles, and replaced my ac condenser. Forgot to ask if they checked my cruise ctrl switch. On my way to Harrisonville MO for WM delivery. Got an extra $100 for his load if I deliver by 04:30. Nobody was available to take it so they started scouring the shop for trucks almost finished. I volunteered. Shor nap and I am on my way.

Pickup tomorrow night 170 miles away in Rogers AR for a 1500+ mile run to Ontario CA.

Another Coolant leak culprit is found down low on the drivers side of the motor. There are to 2 preformed hard plastic lines that run from the engine block to the air compressor? directly under the firewall. These lines are notorious for o-ring leaks that are hard to detect in the beginning except by the frequency of coolant replacement one does. Keep in mind if you replace one line you may as well replace them both as they are only 30.00 or less a piece but the real cost is in labor and replacement coolant.

Thanks for the tip! I will be looking at that...but later...when the temp isnt at 9 freakin degrees. I think last night was the first time I have ever seen lightning and heavy sleet (going sideways) in my life. Most brutal 250 mile drive I have ever done.

I think I am just going to stay in motel room today. Went down for breakfast and another ex-JCT driver telling me how bad it is here and how great KLLM is. Then they get defensive when I tell them that I left KLLM. So, I told them look; I am not new to this. You are not going to say anything to make me change my mind just like I am not going to be able to say anything to you change your mind. I know that every company has it bull chips to deal with and I can work around that. But the reason I left KLLM is because they refused to pay me for a load. I have all the documentation that I pulled the load and everything, but when you tell me that your computer don't show that I pulled that load and don't pay me for a load. I am leaving. I don't pull loads for free (charity would be different). I only takes one time of someone not paying for work performed and I am gone. There is no second chance. There only response to that was how terrible the variable payment system was.

So, I think that I am just going to stay in my room today. I might come across another disgruntled ex-driver that will start telling how horrible JCT is if I come back out. I do find it kinda of amusing that the disgruntled drivers from companies tend to hang out at the motel that their ex-company uses just to be able tell people their "horror" stories. If the company you are going to is so great; why are you hanging out here and not on the road driving and putting your "horror" story behind you. Just move on. But, I guess some people can't do that and have to try and take down others with them.

But in the end, I would not be here if I was not comfortable making the move over here. I researched for about 6 months on JCT and other companies. Talking to drivers on the road and online. Reading threads here on TTR. I have read the "horror" stories, and the "success" stories. And for the most part it is all on the driver for their failure or success. There are a few exceptions where it is the company, but mostly the driver. Gotta make it for you and not what someone tells it was for them. I am confident........not confident........I know for a fact that I will make it here.

That spot should be great! Nice white out up here in Barry, IL. At least I'm not far from Walmart in Moberly, MO. Every one be safe and keep the shiny side up!
