Took the back mount off for mine. From the backside it was no problemo. I'm actually considering cutting a new back plate (I call it plate but it's plastic) for mine so I can group ALL that spread out stuff to a nice neat group all to the left, leaving the right side all open. I am looking at a heavy plastic that is white and slick, so I can use all that space for my dry-erase notes. Right now I just have all that covered with dry-erase contact paper. It makes for odd spaces, though, so I'm looking at a hobby-type project to consolidate the scatter and clean up that whole panel.

Will be waiting the detail on how that is done as well. Have my curiosity peaked on how this is done.

The sides of the holder for the switches lift up to unlock the holder. You have to pull hard as they are stiff. I used a flat head screwdriver to help. The switched have a tab on top and bottom. You have to press those at the same time while pulling forward on the switch. Those tabs are also very stiff.

Most of the switches are straight multiplex (means they use the same wires) but some do have a dedicated harness. Each harness is long enough to reach any switch position so any can be moved, except for maybe the hazard switch which also has a dedicated circuit board.

The switch groupings I call pods. I grouped mine by like kind; such that lights are dash dimmer, foot well, dome light and cargo light in the upper pod in the center dash. The lower three pods from the steering wheel right are the emergency switches of regen, hazard (2 slots) and shutdown override in pod 1. Pod 2 is mirror heat, traction control and two blanks (soon to be USB charger and GPS power). Pod 3 is lane departure (which somehow mysteriously permanently got turned off soon after I got the truck), the OPT (which will be moved to power the GPS), fan control and Jake level. The last two are conveniently located so I can rest my hand on my B.A.M. (BigAssMug) and flick the switches with my bird finger.

    To remove a pod:
The vertical end trim pieces are the release levers. Place a pocket screwdriver in the gap between the switch and the side piece. Pry the trim straight out about 1/4". Do the same on the other side. Now grip the trim and pull forward another 1/4" to release the locking tabs. Don't let them slip back or the tabs will relock. Pull and rock the pod to remove it.

    To remove a switch:
If it has a dedicated harness find the release tab and press it in then pull the harness out. The switches have a tab at the top and bottom. Press in one tab with a pocket screwdriver and pull that side of the switch out as far as you can. Hold it tight so it doesn't slip back. Flip the pod and press in the other tab and pull/rock the switch till it pops out.

If the harness or switch aren't moving you likely don't have the release tab pressed all the way.

Well. This sucks. Black ice and high winds from Santa Rosa to Amarillo. Not taking any chances and shutting it down and try to wait it out. Already sent a QC message to dispatch explaining what's going on.

Getting cb reports and from drivers here at the TA about those conditions along with reports of cars and truck running off the road. The NM road condition website confirmed the black ice reports.

This TA is starting to fill up. Good thing I stopped when I did. Also, got a cb report that 40 west at the 235 due to a wreak.

Weird weather, worldwide. I just got a Facebook report from the school I went to in Amman, Jordan, that the city of Amman is going to be buying snow plows and road sanders to handle the more-frequent heavy snowfalls they have; the city is built on 7 'jebals,' large hills, so snow is a problem.

Oh. That would be the Amman, Jordan in the desert of the Middle East. Snow plows and road sanders.
