LoL nope that wasn't the reason why part 1 got the golden padlock. Let's just say that is the reason there is a post on not poking the mods in the beginning of this one. Certain posters got put in time out and we had to start a new thread. LoL

I didn't say that was the reason. I was merely pointing out there have been some pretty good debates, maybe even arguments, but ya'll don't seem to argue amongst yourselves AND if readers only read this thread, they won't see those lively discussions because those may have been in another thread.

I had forgotten about the mod poking, but you are correct...that is what ended that thread.

I was not hating on you and I don't think BJ was either Never thought either of you were, I just pointed out I know what that NOISEY thing on the front of the trailer is used for

Ok. Guess I misunderstood what you said. Don't think I was 100% awake yet. LoL
But yes there has been some good insight in both threads. Just glad to see this one is still up and running. LoL
Seems you and Aminal always come up with a good story to give everyone a good laugh. Hopefully all of us keeps up the joyful banter and help others that may have questions about JCT or in general.

This is why you don't get in a hurry when you pick up a trailer. Did a swap with another driver to give the load a chance of making OTD and found this. The other driver said he was in a hurry to get the load moving and didn't notice it and it was at night. He even rolled over 600 miles like this. Now, I am stuck here at a TA with at least a 2 hour wait to get this stuff fixed. The marker light, I never would have worried about if it was the only thing. I could have fixed that with red tape. But, might as well get that fixed while the trailer is in the shop for the tires.

I am not mad at the driver. Annoyed, but not mad. Getting mad does no good. I can kinda see missing it at night in a dark area, but should have noticed it on the post trip or the pre trip the next day. With it being it being an "R" trailer, it possibly could have been done at a rail yard, but I have no way of knowing. Looks like someone took a knife to it or ran over rebar over and over and over again. Maybe dragging it along a jagged curb? I don't know.

This throws a big ol' monkey wrench in the plan to make OTD, but most likely that won't happen now. And, yes, I am keeping Sapulpa up to date on what is going on, including the the two hour wait in line for service.

So, don't get in a hurry to pick up a load. Report any damages on the trailer at the time of pickup to CYA on stuff like this. Even though it obvious the damage is old and the driver that picked it up mostly likely didn't do it, JCT probably will put this on him (I don't wish it to) because it was not reported when he picked up the trailer and the chance of an OTD is now probably out the window.

Um, missing low tire pressure on an inside tire is something that can be missed at night. Knife marks like that are easily seen at night...IF a driver merely shines a light on a tire while lazily strolling around the trailer. But that same driver also missed the broken marker light.

The good news is you didn't miss either.

According to the other driver, he had noticed the broken marker light, but that it still worked. That was the only thing he noticed. He had no answer for the tires. He didn't even tell me anything til I questioned him about the tires and marker light. I think that is what annoyed me the most.

He had told me how far he ran with it like that like it was good to go ahead for me to continue with it like that. Like I had said, I could have let the marker light go, but I told him and Sapulpa that I wasn't risking 1) a blowout or 2) getting pulled into a weigh station or checkpoint and getting put of of service for it.

They can repower again or reschedule as far as I am concerned. But this should have been fixed in GA before getting on the road and not in IL when there was no time to waste for OTD.

But, it is what is. Nothing can change that. This is why sometimes I wish that I pulled the same trailer all the time. I would gladly do all live load and unload if it meant avoiding stuff like this.

Here here I agree with that 100% I am there with you Macho would give up drop and hooks if I could keep a good trailer and not have to worry about others slacking off
