Last time I was at the yard, John Mallory let me borrow some graphic audio books that he has. He has a ton of them. Well, anyway, I had never listened to an audiobook before, and man, does it make the time fly by. Before I know it, 6 hours done flew by.

I am now hooked on the Rouge Angel series. The main character is a combination of Joan of Arc, Lara Croft, and Indiana Jones. They even base the stories on real folk lore and legends with their own twist on it of course. But, anyway, if you get a chance to, try out an audio book. You might be surprised how much you like it.

At a previous smaller company there was 5 of us that used to trade audio books and physical books. But then again we would see the same drivers 3 or 4 times a week. Some of those books are very attention grabbing.

I liked the Rouge Angel series so much that I am buying them in order online and downloading them to my iPod.

Not sure about anyone else, but I filled up last night at a Flying Peelot, and got 5x points. So either I'm a special snowflake, or we're still getting 5x.

I had gotten the 5x the points also when I got some fuel at a PFJ.

As far as you being a special snowflake, well, that's a different story. :biggrin_25524:

Pulled into the Bitter Creek rest area very early this morning east of Rock Springs, WY because it was it was blowing snow/white out conditions with ice covered interstate. I couldn't see 30ft in front of my truck and less at times. Shortly after 80 closed in both directions from Rock Springs to Rawlins.

I was glad to find the rest area and that it wasn't 100% full of other trucks.

    Audio Book Selections:
    "Alas, Babylon" Pat Frank
    "The Martian" Andy Weir
    "Airframe" Michael Crichton
    "Battlefield Earth" L. Ron Hubbard
    "Team Yankee" Harold Coyle
    "Timeline" Michael Crichton

    The Ryanverse by Tom Clancy
    Chronological Order
    "Without Remorse"
    "Patriot Games"
    "Red Rabbit"
    "The Hunt for Red October"
    "The Cardinal of the Kremlin"
    "Clear and Present Danger"
    "The Sum of All Fears"
    "Debt of Honor"
    "Executive Orders"
"Rainbow Six" (Yep that Rainbow Six that led to 4 awesome FPS games)
    "The Bear and The Dragon"
"The Teeth of the Tiger" Note this is the last novel fully written by Tom Clancy. Past this one there were co authors, therefore this could be considered the "End" of the Ryanverse. The following novels are not as polished or as enthralling as the earlier novels.
    "Dead or Alive"
    "Locked-On"
    "Threat Vector"
"Command Authority" This is the final book Tom Clancy was involved with. Anything past this point is in the universe of Jack Ryan, but not necessarily a continuation as Clancy died on 1 OCT 13.
    "Support and Defend"
    "Full Force and Effect"

I also suggest "Red Storm Rising" Tom Clancy and Larry Bond

    Enjoy!

    Wow triple post!

Got cleared to come back, I'm looking at returning first part of April if this other non-trucking deal falls through. Spring Break is starting down here, and I have a week or two of karaoke shows lined up. My checklist includes a notarized statement on a month or so of no workie, re-watch those hilarious videos, and get a new medical. Still have to decide if I'm gonna fly in or rent a car. No Greydog for me!

I actually sat down last weekend and got all my boxes of Graphic Audio out of the closet and started ripping the CD's to my hard drive so I can put them on my IPod.

I literally have hundreds of titles from Graphic Audio I've bought over the last 10 years or so. I suggest checking out the Ellizabeth Moon books on GA if you have a thing for space based Sci Fi like I do.
