And the hits roll on...
We were heading up to Mass to take care of some personal business for Mike after dropping a load there, and get asked to swap with another driver that is dropping in Mass that has run out of hours. No problem! We swap out and truck on.
We get to receiver 1 of 2 at 3:30 for a 4am appt (those hills are killer), and the clerk asks for a "bio slip". WTF is a bio slip? Well we were never given one, so we contact the night DM and he tells us that we'll simply have to wait for reg business hours. We practically had to beg him to ask the other drivers that had their hands on this load if they had it on their truck (this load has been repowered twice).
There's no way that this issue can be blamed on either of us, so I don't see why night dispatch had to be uncooperative. Now we're sitting at a receiver for a minimum of 5 hours (after which we'll have to be worked in for an unload) and who wants to lay odds on the likelihood that we'll see a penny of detention pay?

Ouch.
Well, I agree with you on both counts. You took care of the tow situation. I think that one will come out in the wash. Bio slip? That one is just bizarre.
Around 23:00 they pulled my tractor out of the shop so I could sleep in it. Good thing, the drivers lounge was freezing. But no word on what I was supposed to do or what was going to happen to the load to Kalifornia, which was going to be late if I didnt leave that very minute. Called night dispatch, they sent me to breakdown to find out if it was safe for me to keep running the load with two eng lights on, they knew nothing. So I went to the window to explain the situation and get their opinion on whether or not I should just roll. They said I should probably just wait for the shop in the morning and that they would take care of getting the load covered.
They did nothing. My fault, I should have put something on the QC. Pulled me back in the bay at 06:30am. The FL techs on site are going to have a go at it. I really wanted those miles but not at the expense of possible engine damage. Just gotta get this girl repaired completely so I can continue to tear up the roads. Preferably roads I can actually see that arent covered with a layer of ice.

Done! Quick wash and lets see if I will be continuing on that load or another. DEF heater died resulting in cel, FL found another hidden hose leak. Got cruise switch replaced too.
