Ok AZ got me thinking. They haven't said anything about it but on the trip pack envilopes do scales paid with efs and reefer go under advances or expenses? When I pay for scale out of pocket I put it under expenses

I put everything under expenses. I don't ever put anything under advances. No one has ever said anything after 18 months

Also, if I have a receipt on a load, I put in the envelope. This includes wash outs from Blue Beacon.

When you pay out of pocket, list it under expense and include the receipt. When you take an advance (efs for lumper, etc.) it goes under expense and advance.

Any charge, like Blue Beacon or reefer fuel, need not be listed. I turn wash receipts in but they can be trashed if you want. Obviously, any wash that I pay for gets turned in for reimbursement.

HINT! Take a picture of any receipts you turn in (that you need to be paid back for). TripPak lost 6 (6!) of my envelopes last year. Bills can be obtained from shipper/receivers but any of your receipts will be GONE if they can't locate your packet.

HINT #2! ALWAYS write down the date, time and location when dropping bills. This way a "trip search" can be done on your packet. Five of the six packets lost last year were later found because I had this information.

A lot of posters here decry scanning because it costs a few dollars, I however, have no problem paying the $6 scan fee. This way I am assured that all of my bills and receipts have been received and I have better control with the cutoff times. Use the app, its super easy. To me its cheap insurance, other vehemently disagree. To each his own.

TA, is the charge for scanning in Truckstop the same as for using the app on your phone?

No. Truck stop scan is $12, app is $6.
