Here's the deal, unless you guys plan to pay off the lease you may just want to stay company.
The pay won't be much better than a well paid company driver. However, the perks are; you can decline loads, you can take off as much time as you want, you run the truck as you see fit, you will make much more once the truck is paid for and you will have the worth of the truck.
In order to see the benefits you have to look to the goal, the long term.
Until you get to the goal the best path is to run consistently. Run like a company man. This is no picnic.
$1000 a week average. 2yrs here. But I do take a bunch of time off.
I like it here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. The other would be Schneider Choice program.

Hey Ta you said you had a buddy on choice how does he like it?
-
Well I've filled out everything but the last page on the app.
I'm local LTL right now but we are really slow. I've been local for two years. I ran I-35 and east before that, dry van.
Do you think the local work will hurt me? Are you seeing freight slow down with JCT?
I don't want to change over if it's going to slow down. Freight indicators point towards another recession but I figure refer freight doesn't take as bad a hit as everything else. Flatbed is slowing down too. -

The other would be Schneider Choice program.
Seems SNI has made a few changes to the CHICE PROGRAM and not to the favor of the contractor
-
What did they do flatbed?
-
Just coming to light today over on the SNI forum looks like they rewrote the IC Contract / Agreement
-
From what I've been watching over at SNI, it looks like the flood of people chasing the Choice Program loads is negatively affecting the driver to load ratio and driving rates down.
Not sure what changes they made but I crossed them off my list a while ago when I saw how it was heading. -
I figured they would get to many drivers chasing the loads. Shame really its a good idea but not enough loads plus to many drivers is bad.
